Balfour Beatty Infrastructure Inc. is seeking a Superintendent to lead field operations on our projects, coordinating subcontractors and ensuring safety and quality. The role includes budget collaboration with the project manager and overseeing project schedules.

You will mentor field staff, enforce safety programs, and drive on-time, on-budget project delivery in accordance with company policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the company representative for field operations and subcontractor coordination.
• Develop project budget with the project manager and manage scheduling/alignment to plan.
• Oversee safety/Zero Harm program implementation on the jobsite and ensure compliance.
• Mentor and supervise field personnel and subcontractors; enforce company policies.
• Manage project close-out and transition to owner/operations.

Description

TheSuperintendentisthecompanyrepresentativewhohastheprimaryresponsibilityforallfieldoperations,includingthecoordinationofsubcontractors’work.Superintendentisresponsibleforallfieldactivitiesassociatedwiththeproject,includingultimateresponsibilityforimplementationofSafety/ZeroHarmprogramforthejobsite,supervisionofallfieldconstructionworkbysubcontractorsandself-performedwork.Sharesresponsibilitywiththeprojectmanagerfordevelopingtheprojectbudget,activelyparticipatinginthepreconstructionphase,andensuringthattheprojectisbuiltontime,withinbudget,andaccordingtocompanypoliciesandprocedures.Managesandmentorsassistantsuperintendentsandotherfieldpersonnel.30hoursofOSHAtrainingonceeveryfouryears,ormaintainSTScertification.

• Communicateswithsubcontractorsandemployees(alongwiththeprojectmanager)aconsistentlevelofexpectationsanddirectionregardingschedules,constructionmethods,companypoliciesandprocedures,permits,safety/lossprevention,sustainabilityprogram,qualitycontrol,andotherperformancestandards.Ensuresallemployeeshaverelevantsafety/losspreventiontrainingfortheir

ProjectStart-upandScheduling

• Thoroughlyunderstandsprojectspecifications,thecontract,andthecontract’sgeneralconditions,andconfirmsthatallmaterialsandsubcontractworkcomplywithcontractdocumentsandquality
• Exploresandadvisestheprojectteamonappropriateschangesinmethods,materialsschedules,andprocedures.Ensuresallmaterialsareproperlytestedaccordingtospecificationsandensuresthatalltestresultsareproperlyrecorded.

ProjectAdministration,OperationsandClose-out

• Ensuresthatprojectsiteandcompanyassetsaresecure.Communicatesindividualsafetyroles,responsibilitiesandexpectationstoourclients,Operationsstaff,subcontractors,vendorsandthepublicthatmaintainsasafeandrespectfulworkingenvironmentatall
• Managesanddocumentsemployeeandsubcontractorproblemsornonperformance(alongwiththeprojectmanager)throughmentoring/training,disciplinaryaction,termination,backcharges,orotherappropriate
• Reviewsandapprovesallbillsformaterialsandsubcontractorrequisitions.Confirmsthatextrachargesfromsubcontractors/suppliersarereasonableandworkiscorrectlyexecuted.Coordinateswithprojectmanagerforapprovalonextra
• Facilitatesweeklyprojectprogressandsafetymeetingswithallsubcontractorrepresentativesandcoordinatestheupcomingweek’sPartnerswithLossPreventionProfessionalsassignedtotheprojectsite.Attendsallprogressmeetingswiththeowner/architectrepresentatives.
