This landmark project includes a 32-mile corridor with major scopes such as roadway and railroad grade separations, viaducts, tunnel work, utility relocations, trench sections, roadway improvements, and a major river crossing.
We are seeking an experienced General Superintendent to lead field construction operations across multiple disciplines including earthwork, structures, civil, and transportation scopes. This senior leadership role is responsible for driving safety, schedule, quality, subcontractor performance, and daily field execution on a large-scale heavy civil project.
Lead and direct discipline Superintendents across earthwork, structures, and civil construction operations
Ensure all work is executed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with plans and specifications
Oversee field planning, scheduling, sequencing, logistics, manpower, and subcontractor coordination
Enforce contract requirements, quality standards, and productivity expectations for crews and subcontractors
Coordinate labor, materials, equipment, and site resources for maximum efficiency
Provide technical field leadership including drawing interpretation, means and methods, and equipment recommendations
Support project management with schedule development, site logistics plans, procedures, and documentation controls
Drive implementation of the Site Specific Safety Plan and maintain strong field safety culture
Coordinate daily with owner representatives, inspectors, agencies, and internal leadership teams
Resolve field issues quickly to maintain uninterrupted progress
Mentor and develop Superintendents, Foremen, and field leadership staff
15+ years of construction experience
10+ years of experience as a Superintendent on heavy civil projects
Experience leading projects valued at $200M+
Prior superintendent experience on bridge, highway, transit, or large infrastructure projects
Strong knowledge of U.S. construction methods, means and methods, and industry standards
Experience working with City, State, or Federal public agency clients preferred
Knowledge of labor relations, subcontract management, local trades, and union environments
Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Bluebeam, HCSS HeavyBid, Procore, or similar construction software
OSHA Certification and First Aid certifications preferred
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
High School Diploma or GED preferred but not required
Large public works megaprojects
Rail corridor or transportation infrastructure
Bridges, structures, grading, roadway, and utility scopes
California public agency experience
