Putnam/Northern Westchester BOCES seeks a full-time Special Education Teacher for the 2025-2026 School Year. The role involves providing tailored instruction to special education students, developing IEPs, and working collaboratively with educational teams. Ideal candidates will possess strong organizational and communication skills, along with the requisite certification.
Putnam/Northern Westchester BOCES is anticipating the need for a full-time Special Education Teacher for the 2025-2026 School Year to provide instruction to special education students. Duties will also include developing and implementing IEPs, monitoring and assessing student progress, differentiating instruction per student needs and working in a collaborative team setting. The successful candidate will also maintain regular contact with local school district representatives and parents, perform educational assessments as requested and utilize data to inform instruction.
Appropriate New York State Education Department certification in Special Education K-12 or Students with Disabilities.
Ability to supervise classroom team. Experience working collaboratively with therapists and clinicians. Knowledge of the annual review process. Candidates must be organized, flexible and have effective written communication and problem-solving skills. Successful candidates must have a positive, can-do attitude and be committed to the BOCES Mission of Service and Innovation through Partnership.
