Job summary

Monroechamber is seeking a General Shop Laborer-Machine Operator in Independence, MO. Wage is $20.00/hour with 1st and 2nd shifts. Typical day runs 5:00am-3:30pm or 3:30pm-2:00am, Monday through Thursday. Duties include assisting operators, learning equipment, and maintaining safety.

You will use tools, fabricate parts, and prepare products for shipment. Opportunity to train toward forklift certification. Candidates should have shop experience and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand

Qualifications

• Manufacturing or shop experience preferred.
• Must have machine operating experience.
• Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn new equipment and processes.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repetitively and stand for extended periods.
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Learn to operate manufacturing equipment, including fiber lasers, press brakes, and other fabrication machinery.
• Use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• Perform fabrication and assembly of parts and products.
• Hand pick, sort, package, and prepare finished products for shipment.
• Operate sanders, soldering equipment, and other finishing tools as needed.
• Load, unload, and move materials throughout the shop.
• Perform basic machine setup.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Follow all company safety procedures and perform other duties as assigned.
• Potential to train and become certified to operate a forklift.
