Job summary

QPS Employment Group is seeking a reliable General Shop Labor in Racine, WI for a potential-to-hire position. Wage is $20.00-$23.00/hour with a 1st shift from 6:00am to 2:30pm, supporting machinists, fabricators and assembly staff by preparing materials and moving parts.

Duties include material handling, tool preparation, basic quality checks, shop housekeeping, and safety adherence in a hands-on manufacturing setting. Training provided and opportunities to grow within the shop.

Responsibilities

• Load, unload, move and organize materials using pallet jacks or by hand.
• Assist machinists and operators with loading materials and handling parts.
• Prepare work areas, kits, tools and materials for production.
• Assist with painting-related prep and cleanup as directed.
• Keep the shop clean, safe and organized and report equipment issues.
• Perform basic visual inspections and help count/prepare orders.
• Follow OSHA safety procedures and use PPE as required.

Position Title: General Shop Labor Wage: $20.00-$23.00/hour Shift: 1st Hours: 6:00am-2:30pm

We are seeking a reliable, hardworking, and physically fit Manufacturing Shop Helper to join a production team in Racine, WI. This potential to hire position will support machinists, fabricators, and assembly personnel by preparing materials, moving parts and equipment, maintaining a clean and organized shop, and assisting with general production tasks.

General Shop Labor Responsibilities

• Material Handling: Load, unload, move, and organize raw materials, tools, parts, and finished products using pallet jacks or by hand
• Machine & Production Support: Assist machinists and machine operators with loading materials, removing finished parts, handling scrap, and completing general production tasks
• Tool & Work Preparation: Prepare and organize work areas, kits, tools, and materials needed by machinists and production personnel
• Industrial Painting & Surface Preparation: Assist with industrial painting operations, including cleaning and preparing surfaces, masking, mixing and applying coatings as directed, and maintaining painting equipment and work areas
• Shop Maintenance: Keep the shop clean, safe, and organized by sweeping floors, removing debris, cleaning work areas, and ensuring equipment is properly maintained and ready for use
• Quality Assistance: Perform basic visual inspections of parts and finished products, identify obvious defects, and assist with counting and preparing completed orders
• Safety Compliance: Follow all company safety procedures and OSHA requirements, properly use required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and immediately report unsafe conditions or equipment issues to a supervisor
• General Shop Duties: Perform other general labor and production-support duties as assigned

General Shop Labor Requirements

• Dependable, safety-minded, willing to learn, and comfortable working in a hands-on manufacturing environment
• Experience with industrial painting or surface preparation is a plus
• Ability to perform basic industrial painting tasks is preferred
• On-the-job training will be provided
