The General Service Technician role is a full or part-time hourly position responsible for routine vehicle repairs and maintenance, delivering exceptional 5-star service through effective communication and meeting guest expectations for quality and time.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Perform basic vehicle services and repairs efficiently according to company standards.
  2. Conduct tire services such as wheel removal, balancing, patch/plug repairs, mounting, installation, and TPMS repairs.
  3. Perform vehicle services including oil changes, lubrications, basic maintenance, and battery testing/installation.
  4. Complete Monro’s Courtesy Inspection on every vehicle, identifying and communicating additional service needs.
  5. Assist with inventory management, store duties, and maintaining a clean, guest-ready environment.
  6. Adhere to safety standards, including wheel torque, oil safety, and compliance procedures.
  7. Test drive vehicles following policy and safety laws.
  8. Follow company policies, environmental codes, and OSHA standards.
  9. Maintain technical knowledge via Monro University training.
  10. Operate and maintain equipment safely per guidelines.
  11. Perform other duties as assigned.

Profile Summary:

Ability to identify problems, collect data, and recommend solutions. Strong communication skills for technical issues and reports.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Automotive training or equivalent experience.
  • Valid driver’s license and satisfactory MVR.
  • Own basic tools or participate in Monro’s tool purchase program.
