Overview

Big O General Service Technicians perform service and installation activities associated with store products and services in an accurate and timely manner.

Pay: $31,220 - $38,160 per year

Responsibilities

1. Drain oil and change oil filter; lubricate vehicles; install, rotate and balance tires and properly torque wheels; check and fill various fluids; check and replace various filters and lights
2. Unload tires and other merchandise and supplies from transport trucks and warehouse deliveries
3. Inspect disposed tires for adjustment and properly store or dispose of tires
4. Clean facilities, tools, and equipment and stock shelves
5. Consistently and courteously greet and thank each customer and provide fast and friendly customer service
6. Promote sales through explaining benefits of service and products to customers
7. Perform all necessary sales duties per company policy and procedure, including proper pricing, knowledge and implementation of promotions and sales, suggestive selling, proper vendor check-in, and stocking merchandise
8. Maintain internal and external store appearance to meet Big O Tires standards
9. Safely operate customer vehicles with automatic and manual transmissions, moving vehicles as needed to and from service areas
10. Complete daily Today’s Class Technician and other required training timely
11. Follow posted work schedule and adhere to proper clocking procedures to accurately reflect hours worked
12. Keep supervisor informed of maintenance problems and issues needing attention
13. Assist in training new employees as needed
14. Adhere to company and position-specific policies and procedures; perform other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

1. Be at least 17 years old (with parental consent) or older
2. Ability to learn new concepts and use technical materials
3. Operate a computer and other office machinery consistently
4. Safely operate automatic and manual transmission vehicles
5. Exchange accurate information with customers
6. Work with hazardous materials safely
7. Work outdoors in various weather conditions
8. Follow PPE regulations
9. Maintain vision, hearing, speech, and olfactory senses
10. Move and retrieve products and supplies from shelves, including lifting up to 75 pounds
11. Availability to work holidays, weekends, and after hours as needed
12. Communicate effectively in English (reading, writing, speaking)
13. Meet company pre-employment screening requirements
14. Legal authorization to work in the U.S.

Note: Ability to obtain a Motor Vehicle Inspection within 6 months (for Missouri stores)

Preferred Skills
