Job Description

The General Service Technician role combines front and back shop responsibilities, including at least two days per week at the front counter. Responsibilities include vehicle repairs and maintenance, communicating issues to guests, and acting as a key holder and manager on duty when needed. The role focuses on delivering excellent guest experiences, driving sales, and maintaining a welcoming store environment.

Responsibilities

  1. Perform basic vehicle services and repairs efficiently according to company standards.
  2. Conduct tire services including removal, balancing, patching, mounting, and TPMS repairs.
  3. Perform vehicle services such as oil changes, lubrication, battery testing, and replacements.
  4. Complete Courtesy Inspections on every guest vehicle, identifying and communicating additional needed services.
  5. Assist with inventory management and store maintenance to ensure cleanliness and readiness.
  6. Follow safety standards, including proper use of equipment and safe testing procedures.
  7. Test drive vehicles following company policies and traffic laws.
  8. Adhere to all company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
  9. Maintain technical knowledge through ongoing training.
  10. Operate equipment safely and assist with various store duties as directed by management.
  11. Handle opening and closing responsibilities as a secondary key holder.
  12. Communicate product and service information effectively to guests.
  13. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Automotive training or experience in basic maintenance and repairs.
  • Valid driver’s license and satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report (MVR).
  • Own a basic set of tools or participate in Monro’s tool purchase program.
