Job Description

Compensation: $16-17.00/hour

The General Service Technician role combines front and back shop responsibilities, including at least two days per week at the front counter. Responsibilities include performing routine vehicle repairs and maintenance per company and manufacturer standards, communicating vehicle issues to guests, and playing a key role in providing a superior guest experience, driving sales, and maintaining a welcoming store environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform basic vehicle services and repairs efficiently according to Monro standards.
  • Tire services – wheel removal, balancing, patching, changing, mounting, TPMS repair.
  • Vehicle services – lubrications, oil changes, basic maintenance, battery testing and installation.
  • Complete Monro’s Courtesy Inspection on every vehicle, documenting and communicating additional needed services.
  • Assist in inventory management, including pulling and stocking tires and parts.
  • Maintain store cleanliness and ensure it is guest-ready.
  • Perform services safely, following safety standards including wheel torque, oil safety, and compliance procedures.
  • Test drive vehicles according to policy, observing traffic and safety laws.
  • Adhere to company policies, governmental standards, environmental codes, and OSHA/ANSI standards.
  • Maintain technical knowledge through Monro University training modules.
  • Operate and maintain equipment safely, including lifts, welders, brake lathes, etc.
  • Assist management with guest care, work orders, register assistance, facility maintenance, and purchase orders.
  • Serve as a secondary key holder responsible for opening and closing duties.
  • Communicate effectively all products and services offered to guests.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Automotive training or equivalent experience.
  • Valid driver’s license and satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report (MVR).
  • Own basic tools or participate in Monro’s tool purchase program.
