• Valid/Current Texas Emissions State Inspector License HIGHLY PREFERRED **

Sun Auto Tire & Service operates multiple locations across Texas and is expanding! We offer complete quality automotive repair and preventative maintenance. Our ASE certified technicians will be happy to help you on a wide range of services including alignments, brake repair, oil changes, batteries, shocks and struts, belts and hoses, and air conditioning.

The State Emissions Inspector / General Service Technician will perform non-technical service repairs such as oil changes, tire and wheel related services, alignments, flushes, and more. While working alongside ASE Certified Automotive Technicians, you will get the training necessary to advance your career. Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Safely transport customers to and from their residence or business using the company vehicle.
• Pick up parts, supplies, tires, etc., from vendors and/or the corporate office using the company vehicle.
• Operate company vehicle safely, obeying all traffic laws.
• Conduct State Safety and Emission Inspections ethically, following all guidelines.
• Perform tire mounting/dismounting, wheel balancing, and tire rotation.
• Perform oil changes and basic services as directed.
• Observe vehicle condition and report repairs or safety concerns, documenting properly.
• Maintain cleanliness of the shop and surrounding areas.
• Follow safety procedures and report concerns.

Qualifications:

• Valid driver’s license
• At least 18 years old
• Valid Texas Emissions Inspector license (highly preferred)
• Ability to work at least five days, including Saturdays

Working Conditions and Physical Demands:

The role involves exposure to loud noises, dust, fumes, lubricants, and other materials. The environment varies with temperature extremes. Physical requirements include standing, walking, bending, lifting up to 50 pounds, and good vision and hearing. Reasonable accommodations are available for disabilities.

Previous automotive experience is preferred, but motivated individuals with a passion for cars are encouraged to apply. The environment is fast-paced with ongoing tasks.
