Job summary

Big O Tires is seeking a General Service Technician to perform service and installation activities accurately and timely. Responsibilities include oil changes, tire installation and balancing, fluid checks, and light maintenance while delivering friendly customer service.

The role requires strong communication, team collaboration, ability to lift up to 75 pounds, and availability to work holidays and weekends. Valid driver's license is needed.

Qualifications

• Ability to safely operate automatic and manual transmission vehicles and PPE rules.

Responsibilities

• Drain and change oil; install, rotate and balance tires; check and fill fluids; replace filters and lights.
• Unload tires and merchandise from transport trucks and deliveries.
• Inspect disposed tires and dispose of tires properly.
• Clean facilities, tools, and equipment; stock shelves.
• Provide fast, friendly customer service and explain product benefits.
• Conduct sales activities per policy; pricing, promotions, and suggestive selling.
• Maintain store appearance per Big O Tires standards.

Responsibilities

• Drain oil and change oil filter; lubricate vehicles; install, rotate and balance tires and properly torque wheels; check and fill various fluids; check and replace various filters and lights
• Unload tires and other merchandise and supplies from transport trucks and warehouse deliveries.
• Inspect disposed tires for adjustment and properly store or dispose of tires
• Clean facilities, tools, and equipment and stock shelves
• Consistently and courteously greet and thank each customer and provide fast and friendly customer service
• Promote sales through explaining benefits of service and products to customers
• Perform all necessary sales duties per company policy and procedure; including, but not limited to proper pricing, knowledge and implementation of promotions and sales, suggestive selling, proper vendor check-in, stocking merchandise
• Maintain internal and external store appearance to comply with Big O Tires standards
• Safely operate customer vehicles with automatic and manual transmissions, moving vehicles as needed to, and away from, service areas
• Timely complete daily Today's Class Technician and other required training
• Keep supervisor informed of any maintenance problems and/or any issues that need attention
• Assist in the proper training of new employees as needed
• All MFA Oil employees are expected to know and adhere to company and position specific policies and procedures. While this job description contains the primary duties of the position, employees may be expected to perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

• Ability and willingness to work with hazardous materials

• Ability and willingness to comply with Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) regulations
• Valid driver's license
• Vision, hearing, speech, and the ability to detect odors
• Ability to move and position self to move and retrieve product and supplies from shelves, under counters, or stacks of inventory weighing up to 75 pounds
• Availability to work holidays, weekends, and after regular business hours as needed
• Ability to speak, read, write, and understand the English language to communicate accurately and effectively with customers, coworkers, and supervisors.
• Ability to meet company requirements including successful pre-employment screenings
• Legal authorization to work in the United States of America
• Ability to obtain Current Motor Vehicle Inspection license within 6 months of eligibility (for Missouri based stores)
