Sun Auto Tire & Service operates multiple locations across Texas and is expanding! We offer comprehensive automotive repair and preventative maintenance services. Our ASE certified technicians assist with alignments, brake repairs, oil changes, batteries, shocks and struts, belts and hoses, and air conditioning.

The State Emissions Inspector / General Service Technician performs non-technical repairs such as oil changes, tire and wheel services, alignments, flushes, and more. Working alongside ASE Certified Technicians, you will receive training to advance your career. This is an excellent opportunity for aspiring ASE Automotive Technicians.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Transport customers safely using the company vehicle
• Pick up parts, supplies, and tires from vendors or the office
• Operate the vehicle safely and obey traffic laws
• Conduct State Safety and Emission Inspections ethically following guidelines
• Perform tire mounting/dismounting, wheel balancing, and rotation
• Perform oil changes and basic services under supervision
• Observe vehicle condition and report repairs or safety concerns
• Maintain cleanliness of the shop and surrounding areas
• Follow safety procedures and report concerns

Qualifications:

• Valid driver’s license
• At least 18 years old
• Valid Texas Emissions Inspector license (highly preferred)
• Ability to work at least five days, including Saturday

Working Conditions and Physical Demands:

Exposure to moderate to loud noises, dust, fumes, lubricants, and hazardous materials. Environment varies in temperature. Must meet physical requirements such as standing, walking, bending, lifting up to 50 pounds, and good vision and hearing. Reasonable accommodations available for disabilities.

Previous automotive experience is preferred, but motivated individuals with a passion for cars are encouraged to apply. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with always something to do.
