Position Schedule / Shift
Service center hours are Monday–Friday, 7:30 a.m.–6:00 p.m., and Saturday, 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. Schedule and shift assignments will depend on the position.
Position Summary
As a General Service Technician, you’ll perform routine vehicle maintenance and inspections, including oil changes, tire rotations, battery services, and other preventive maintenance tasks. This role is ideal for individuals looking to build a career in automotive repair, with opportunities to develop technical skills and gain experience working alongside experienced technicians. Success in this position requires attention to detail, a commitment to safety, and a focus on delivering quality service to customers in a fast‑paced team environment.
Key Responsibilities
- In an efficient and productive manner, perform basic automotive repairs, adjustments, and maintenance procedures as outlined on a repair order for which the technician is trained.
- Perform oil changes, tire replacement and repairs, and general maintenance repairs.
- Drive vehicles into the service bay, prepare them for, and complete digital vehicle inspection.
- Test drive vehicles and prepare the vehicle for delivery to the customer after necessary repairs and maintenance.
- Maintain cleanliness of shop and work areas, and perform other duties as necessary.
Qualifications
Required
- High School diploma, GED, and/or technical school graduate/certification.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
- No working experience required.
- Mechanical aptitude is required.
- Knowledge of automotive and/or truck systems, tools, and technical resources to independently perform a variety of basic repairs and maintenance of automobile and truck vehicles.
- Understand and consistently demonstrate proper use of equipment and tools used in such repair and maintenance, and maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
- Ability to consistently provide exceptional customer service and improve customer service scores.
Preferred
- G1-Auto Maintenance & Light Repair preferred.
- State inspection certificate, where applicable.
- AC 609 Certification.
- Must have their own tools appropriate for their skill level for use in the center.
Work Environment
- May experience loud noises and odors intermittently in the shop environment.
- Position involves standing, walking, and normal physical mobility, including reaching, grabbing, lifting, and carrying automotive parts and equipment (averaging up to approximately 80 pounds).
- Must be able to work in the heat; some locations do not have air conditioning. Fans are present in all facilities.
- Must be able to remain standing in a concrete facility for the entire work shift.

Compensation
- General Service Technician will earn a competitive hourly rate of $15 – $17 with annual bonus potential based on performance.

Time Off & Leave
- Paid Time Off (PTO): Accrual‑based, increases with tenure, eligible at 90 days of employment.
- Full‑time new employees will receive up to 12 PTO days annually; accrual based on start date and may include additional PTO based on role and/or state & local requirements.
- Part‑time employee PTO hours are calculated based upon the standard weekly hours the employee is scheduled to work and will accrue at a minimum of 3 hours per month.
- Paid Holidays: Full‑time employees are eligible for 10 company‑paid holidays annually, plus 1 mental health day, 2 floating holidays, and 1 volunteer day. Holidays vary by business unit schedules.
- Part‑time employees are eligible for 8 company‑paid holidays annually, plus 1 mental health day and 2 floating holidays. Holidays vary by business unit schedules.
