Summary

A General Service Technician exemplifies professional integrity, strong teamwork skills, basic knowledge of the automotive industry, and skills in automotive diagnostics and repairs. The role involves delivering quality work, providing exceptional customer service, and supporting daily business operations.

Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities
  1. Perform routine maintenance services, such as oil changes, tire rotations, fluid flushes, and filter replacements, to ensure vehicle reliability and longevity.
  2. Assist with and conduct comprehensive vehicle inspections to identify mechanical, electrical, maintenance, or safety concerns.
  3. Complete repairs and maintenance tasks efficiently and accurately.
  4. Utilize diagnostic equipment, technical manuals, and computerized systems for troubleshooting automotive problems.
  5. Ensure all work meets manufacturer specifications and safety standards.
  6. Perform quality control checks and test-drive vehicles to verify repairs.
  7. Report safety concerns or issues requiring additional service work to management.
  8. Complete test drives in accordance with company policies and safety practices.
  9. Maintain accurate inspection records and communicate service recommendations clearly to sales and management staff.
  10. Communicate effectively with customers regarding repair recommendations, estimates, and questions.
  11. Provide excellent customer service, ensuring customer satisfaction through quality automotive services and professionalism.
  12. Collaborate with team members to coordinate workflow and service delivery.
  13. Follow safety requirements and promote a safe work environment in compliance with OSHA and company policies.
  14. Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  15. Stay updated on industry trends, technology, and regulatory changes.
  16. Support the Store Manager in fostering a positive team environment and exceeding business goals.
  17. Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Details

This full-time, onsite role requires at least 32 hours per week, with varying hours based on location and business needs. Long hours and weekend work are common.

Travel

Up to 25% local travel; less than 5% overnight travel. Reimbursements may apply.
