Job summary

AP Health is seeking a highly experienced Physician Assistant to join our Frisco, TX team as a Surgical First Assistant with robotic surgery expertise. This is a strictly surgical role with no clinic time, in a fast-paced operating room environment.

Required: 2+ years as a surgical first assistant in general robotic surgery, Texas license or ability to relocate, NCCPA board certification, and active BLS/ACLS. Competitive benefits and professional growth opportunities available.

• Texas state license (or ability to obtain)
• Board certified by NCCPA and current BLS/ACLS.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Surgical First Assistant in the Operating Room.
• Position and drape patient per surgeon guidance.
• Perfom suturing and tissue retraction.
• Assist intraoperative patient care with technical duties.
• Conduct comprehensive H&P examinations.
• Rotating on-call responsibilities.

What will you do

• Functions as a Surgical First Assistant in the Operating Room
• Positions and drapes the patient under the direction of the surgeon
• Suturing and retracting of all tissue layers
• Assists in the intra operative care of the patient by performing technical duties as assigned
• Perform comprehensive and problem focused histories and physical examinations
• Rotating on call responsibilities

What do you need

• 2 years experience functioning as a surgical first assist in general robotic surgery
• Current Texas State License will help obtain if relocating
• Board certified by NCCPA
• Active BLS and ACLS
