Aerotek is seeking a Production Worker for a contract role in Bartlett, IL, to support a fast-paced metals manufacturing environment. This role involves working in a fast-paced metals manufacturing environment to support the production of components used in diesel motors for trucks and heavy equipment. You will perform a variety of tasks across different departments, including feeding and packing tubes, basic assembly using pneumatic tools, operating a robotic welder, and conducting testing and quality checks. The position requires consistent attention to detail, safe material handling, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly.
Feed tubes into machines that count and bevel them, ensuring accurate quantities and proper processing.
Pack tubes after they have been counted and beveled, following established procedures and quality standards.
Feed tubes into the outer shell of coolers as part of a basic assembly process.
Use a pneumatic air gun to assemble tubes into coolers, maintaining safe and efficient operation of tools.
Operate a robotic welder by loading coolers into the welder and unloading them after welding is complete.
Handle coolers that weigh up to 50 pounds once all auxiliary pieces have been welded on, performing repetitive lifting as required.
Perform final testing and quality inspection on ERG coolers to ensure they meet specifications and standards.
Work within an automated cell that performs feeding, assembly, welding, and testing processes, monitoring equipment and product quality.
Follow documentation and inspection procedures to record production activities and quality checks accurately.
Handle materials safely, including loading and unloading parts and products in accordance with production requirements.
Maintain a clean and organized work area within assigned production cells.
Adhere to all safety guidelines, including proper use of tools, machines, and personal protective equipment.
Work overtime as required, including extended daily hours and mandatory Saturday shifts.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly throughout the shift.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume production environment.
Strong attention to detail for quality inspection, packing, and documentation.
Ability to learn new skills, as verified through previous work references.
Ability to read and write English at approximately an 8th grade level.
Willingness to work overtime, including 5560 hours per week and mandatory Saturday shifts.
Comfort working with production equipment, including machine operation, loading, and material handling.
Capability to perform general labor tasks such as packing, loading, and inspection.
Eligibility to work in an ITAR-regulated facility.
Experience reading and working from blueprints.
Previous experience with trimming operations in a production or fabrication environment.
Experience using calipers for measurement and inspection.
Experience in metal or plastic fabrication environments.
Familiarity with documentation practices related to production and quality inspection.
Experience with machine operation and automated production cells.

The role is based in a metals manufacturing facility that produces parts for diesel motors used in trucks and heavy equipment. The environment is not climate controlled, so it can become hot during the summer months, and there is a noticeable but not overpowering smell of oil and metal. Production equipment is organized into cells for different product lines and stages of the manufacturing process, including manual and automated operations. This is a union environment, and employees who transition to permanent status will be converted into the union. Work is performed on either 1st shift (5:00 a.m.1:30 p.m., with overtime extending to 3:30 p.m.) or 2nd shift (3:30 p.m.12:00 a.m., with overtime extending to 2:00 a.m.). The position involves regular standing, repetitive motions, and frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds while working with production, packing, and inspection equipment.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00/hr.
