Position Summary

Operates equipment and machinery in the casting, machining, and assembly of automotive components. Verifies that the component is cast, machined, and assembled according to customer specifications. Moves materials throughout all stages of the manufacturing process.

Responsibilities
  • Lifts workpieces manually or using hoists and secures them in fixtures or loads automatic feeding devices.
  • Starts machines, engages feeds, and observes operations.
  • Inspects and measures workpieces to verify conformance to specifications.
  • Adjusts machine controls and guides as needed.
  • Replaces worn machine accessories.
  • Files, sands, or shapes machined parts.
  • Cleans manufactured parts.
  • Tends machines and equipment.
  • Performs work according to Standard Work Chart and Work Instruction Manual.
  • Performs inspections as per Key Point Instruction Sheet.
  • Maintains good housekeeping at workstation.
  • Completes Preventative Maintenance Inspections as directed.
  • Performs Pokayoke checks as per Inspection Sheet.
  • Records data on the Daily Production Report.
  • Changes dies and fixtures as instructed.
  • Communicates abnormal situations to Team Leader or Supervisor.
  • Reports machine malfunctions.
  • Performs sampling inspection and testing of parts and materials.
  • Records test data, applying statistical quality control procedures.
  • Adjusts procedures to meet schedules.
  • Suggests equipment efficiency improvements.
  • Sets up machines and equipment.
  • May work overtime as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Skills and Requirements

Essential: Dependable, trainable, team-oriented. Availability for daily and weekend overtime. Must pass drug, physical, and background checks.

Preferred: Manufacturing experience is a plus but not required.

Education: High school diploma or G.E.D.
