General Practice (Veterinarian)
The Package:
This independently owned mobile, mixed animal practice is looking to expand and add another DVM to their team. You will be on the road visiting farms, barns and homes. You will see around 1/3 Equine, 1/3 Livestock and 1/3 Cats and Dogs. You will be provided with a fully equipped vehicle and a Veterinary Assistant will ride along with you every day to assist with your visits. There is no clinical facility but there is a shop and office where all paperwork and lab work can be processed.
The hospital covers a wide and diverse area but the visits will be grouped together to avoid you having to drive miles between each visit. A full-time schedule will consist of 4 days per week (3 appointment days and 1 office day). On-call is shared evenly between all veterinarians and at the moment 1 in 3 weekend shifts would need to be covered.
If you are interested in mentoring, the hospital takes on veterinary students every year so this would give you the perfect opportunity to explore that side of VetMed. The hospital is also interested in potential leadership so if this is of interest, this could also be a great opportunity for you.
The hospital is open to speaking to everyone at all stages of their career, whether you are fresh out of school or a seasoned veterinarian and you are looking for a new opportunity, this could be perfect for you.
