Job summary

General Mills in Superior, WI is hiring for a General Labor role at our Grain Elevator. Starting pay is $26.41 per hour with 8- or 10-hour shift options depending on business needs.

The position focuses on supporting production packaging and processing operations, sanitation, and equipment startup/shutdown. As part of the manufacturing team, you will handle quality ingredients, operate powered industrial vehicles, and participate in HACCP documentation and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• High school education or GED required.
• Must be able to qualify for TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) – paid by company.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Able to perform physical tasks for extended periods (standing, walking, climbing, bending, pushing, pulling, twisting).
• Able to climb and/or work at heights using stairs, ladders, lifts, or platforms.
• Must wear PPE such as safety shoes, eye protection, hearing protection, hard hat, hair/beard net, gloves when required.
• Willing to follow grooming requirements for a food manufacturing environment.
• Ability to work in hot, cold, noisy, dusty, wet conditions.
• Willingness to work around high-speed machinery.
• Ability to work with allergens present in food environment.

Responsibilities

Your Work Schedule and Shift Information

• 8- or 10-hour shifts (business need determines shift schedule)

• 8-hour shift: Monday - Friday from 7am - 3pm

• 10-hour shift: Monday - Thursday or Tuesday - Friday from 7am - 5pm

• Ability and willingness to work overtime, any shift, including days, nights, weekends, holidays, and emergency events.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• As part of our manufacturing team, you will:

• Handle high quality food ingredients that are eaten EVERYDAY, NATIONWIDEUse TECHNOLOGY in an industry-leading facility

• Work with HIGH-LEVEL operators on EXPERIENCED teams that are looking to pass down their knowledge to workers WILLING TO LEARN and get paid doing it

• Operate powered industrial vehicles including Forklift and Locomotives

• Perform sanitation, cleaning, and maintaining warehouse and railcar areas (internal and external to plant)

• Inspect, clean, load, and unload railcars

• Execute all required HACCP food safety processes and documentation

• Participate in startup, changeover, operation, and shut down of operating equipment

• Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives to increase platform performance

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• High school education or GED

• Must be able to qualify for a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) - paid by company

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

• Must be able to perform physical tasks for extended periods of time including standing, walking, climbing, bending, pushing, pulling, and twisting over surfaces

• Ability to climb and/or work at heights while utilizing stairs, ladders, personnel lifts, or platforms

• Ability to wear protective clothing and equipment (Personal Protective Equipment - PPE) such as safety shoes, face masks, safety glasses, hearing protection, a hard hat, a hair/beard net, and gloves (when required)

• Willing and able to adhere to all grooming requirements necessary for a food manufacturing environment

• Ability to work in hot, cold, noisy, dusty, wet environmental working conditions

• Willing to work around industrial high-speed moving machinery

• Ability to work with allergens that might be present in a food environment

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience in a manufacturing/production environment
