Job summary

Coastal Kids Pediatrics is seeking a pediatrician to provide per diem coverage in our outpatient offices across Orange County, including Huntington Beach, Irvine, Fountain Valley, and Newport Beach. The position offers 2–3 days per month, with options for full or half days, and standard clinic hours from 8am to 5pm, Monday through Friday. The role requires an M.D.

or D.O. with pediatrics residency training, California medical license, BLS certification, and, as applicable, PALS.

Qualifications

• MD/DO degree required.
• ACGME or AOA approved pediatrics residency or equivalent.
• Current, unrestricted California medical license.
• BLS required; PALS as required for hospital appointments.

Responsibilities

• Provide per diem pediatrician coverage in outpatient offices in Orange County (Huntington Beach, Irvine, Fountain Valley, Newport Beach).
• Schedule 2–3 days per month (full days or half days); Openings Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm.
• Utilize EMR system (eClinical Works) for patient records.

Physician Requirements:

• M.D. or D.O. degree required
• Successful completion of an Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or American Osteopathic Association (AOA) approved post-graduate residency, or equivalent in Pediatrics
• Current, Unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of California
• Current, Unrestricted California state specific DEA license
• Board Eligible or Board Certification appropriate for degree certified within five years of finishing training.
• Meets all requirements in order to obtain medical staff membership and required privileges.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) as required for hospital appointment.

The expected base salary range for this position located in Newport Beach, CAis $125/hour. It is not typical for offers to be made at or near the top of the range. Pediatric Associates offers are based on several factors including but not limited to the candidate’s education, work experience, and certifications, all of which are dependent on the requirements of the specific role.
