Job summary

Target in Albany, OR is seeking a General Merchandise Expert to help guests and keep product available on the sales floor. You will greet guests, assist with finding what they need, and support restocking, pricing, and sign placement to maintain an inviting store.

This role emphasizes teamwork, adaptability to busy shifts (nights, weekends, holidays), and compliance with store policies. Full training provided to develop guest service skills and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

• Guest service fundamentals and experience supporting a guest-first culture across the store.
• Experience in retail business fundamentals, including department sales trends, inventory replenishment, and process efficiency and improvement.
• Executing daily/weekly workload to support business priorities and deliver on sales goals.

Responsibilities

• Create an Easy, Inspiring and Friendly guest experience by delivering on the following commitments.
• Greet guests in person and via multiple channels and assist with finding what they need or resolving issues.
• Help guests find what they need and/or resolve issues to ensure a smooth, easy shopping experience.
• End every guest transaction with a sincere thank you.
• Actively support team efforts and assist peers in other areas while maintaining a positive and respectful attitude.
• Receive products, restock shelves, organize the backroom, merchandise set up and maintenance, pricing activities, and putting up promo signs for GM areas.
• Operate power equipment to move merchandise if certified.
• Learn and execute operational procedures affecting inventory, store profitability, and product availability.
• Follow Target policies and safety procedures and help maintain a safe, compliant workplace.
• Support guest services such as back-up cashier and digital fulfillment processes.
• All other duties based on business needs.
