Job summary

Temple Health is seeking a General Mechanic for the Facilities Management team in Philadelphia. This 20-hour-per-week role (Thu-Fri 3:30p-10p; Sat 8a-3p) involves assisting with maintenance tasks, repairs, and preventive work across hospital facilities.

Ideal candidates have a High School Diploma or equivalent, with 2 years of general maintenance experience and a valid driver’s license. Trade school training is a plus.

Qualifications

• 2 years experience in General Maintenance or related required.

Responsibilities

• Perform skilled maintenance and repairs for Facilities Management.
• Work on projects with other trade mechanics and report discrepancies to Facilities Director.
• Ensure work orders and preventive maintenance are completed timely and cost-effectively.
• Troubleshoot equipment and perform preventative maintenance and complex repairs.

Job description

Position: General Mechanic

Hours: 20hrs/week, Thursday - Friday 3:30p -10p & Saturday 8am to 3pm

Performs skilled maintenance and repairs and a variety of maintenance and engineering duties for the Facilities Management Department. Assigned to work by the Facilities Management Staff on a regular basis. In addition, this position is called upon to work on projects with other trade mechanics, make rounds and report discrepancies to the Director of Facilities or any Facilities Management Staff. This position will assist with work to ensure that work orders and preventative maintenance work are corrected in a timely and cost-effective manner. Has a general working knowledge of areas of maintenance and repair. This position performs other general maintenance responsibilities not directly related to designated or licensed trade and works independently. Maintains and Performs equipment troubleshooting, preventative maintenance and complex repairs equipment and other facility related equipment and structures.
