Job summary

Suzano Packaging LLC in Arkansas is seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to perform routine, preventive, and predictive maintenance on plant equipment. You will troubleshoot hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems and support reliability initiatives, including lubrication, vibration, and ultrasound systems.

The role requires reviewing blueprints and coordinating with safety standards. This is a 12-hour shift position.

Qualifications

• Two years or more of experience as General Mechanic in an industrial environment.
• Two-year degree or higher in Industrial Mechanical Maintenance.
• Experience reading blueprints, sketches, and schematics.
• Knowledge of OSHA safety requirements and mechanical hazards.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine, preventive, and predictive maintenance on mechanical equipment throughout the plant.
• Perform emergency maintenance on failed equipment to ensure minimal downtime.
• Maintain and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment & systems.
• Apply all applicable codes, regulations, reliability strategies, safety, environmental, and OEM standards.
• Improve operations productivity and quality by anticipating and eliminating potential delays through planning.
• Support daily activities, shutdowns, long-term planning and capital projects.
• Support reliability initiatives such as lubrication, vibration and ultrasound predictive systems.
• Perform precision maintenance and repairs such as cutting and welding of various materials, laser alignment, rigging, bearing installation/removal, coupling installation/removal, belt and chain maintenance.

Pay Rate: Starting at $35.20 per hour
Shift: 7am-3:30pm (Monday-Friday)

What You’re Going to Do:

• Perform routine, preventive, and predictive maintenance on mechanical equipment throughout the plant.
• Perform emergency maintenance on failed equipment to ensure minimal equipment downtime.
• Maintain and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment & systems.
• Apply all applicable codes, regulations, reliability strategies, safety, environmental, and OEM standards.

• Successfully support daily activities, shutdowns, long-term planning and capital projects.
• Support reliability initiatives such as lubrication, vibration and ultrasound predictive systems.
• Perform precision maintenance and repairs such as Cutting and welding of various materials such as pipe, plate, and structural, Laser alignment, Rigging, Bearing installation and removal, Coupling installation and removal, Belt and chain maintenance.
• Complete precision paperwork.

Physical Requirements:

• Lifting and Carrying: Must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull objects that weight at least 50 pounds on a regular basis.
• Standing and Walking: Must be able to withstand frequent standing or walking, sometimes for extended periods of time.
• Climbing and Bending: Must be able to perform tasks that involve ascending or descending ladders, stairs, or scaffolding, and performing bending, stooping, or kneeling actions.
• Repetitive Movements: Must be able to engage in repetitive motions, such as typing, grasping, or operating machinery and power tools.
• Mobility: Must be able to move between or within work areas, including navigating various surfaces and confined spaces.
• Exposure to Elements: Must be able to work in outdoor or indoor conditions with exposure to precipitation, wind, or varying temperatures.

What We Expect from You:

• Two (2) years or more of experience as General Mechanic in an industrial environment OR A two (2) year degree or higher in Industrial Mechanical Maintenance and one (1) year experience in Industrial Mechanical Maintenance OR Three (3) years or more experience in Industrial Mechanical Maintenance (Millwright, Pipe Fitter, Welder, Machinist).
• Meets the physical and safety requirements of the job while working 12-hour shifts, including holidays, overtime, and weekends.
• Experience reading blueprints, Sketches and schematics.
• Knowledge of mechanical hazards/safety procedures and OSHA requirements.
• Experience diagnosing and repairing various mechanical equipment such as pumps, gearboxes, power & transmission systems, conveyors, etc.
• Good communication skills verbal & written Ability to work with others Ability to work in hostile environments.
• Self-motivated with a sense of urgency.
• Experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System.
• High school diploma or GED.

• Good computer skills.
• Experience with SAP, Computerized Maintenance Management System.
• Experience working with Electrical & Instrumentation Technicians.
• Hydraulics experience.
• Paper mill experience.
• Pneumatics experience.
