Description
Purpose of the Role: The General Manager provides strategic and tactical leadership for their restaurant. This manager must maintain operations and drive results through people development, sales, and profit growth. The General Manager hires, trains, and develops team members aligned with the Wingstop mission to Serve the World Flavor. They must convey the Wingstop culture and foster a creative, hardworking, and fun environment committed to the brand's success.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
People Management:
- Staff the restaurant efficiently with carefully selected team members.
- Ensure a safe environment for staff and guests.
- Oversee orientation, onboarding, and performance plans for staff.
- Make final hiring and separation decisions, following proper procedures.
- Create staff schedules considering sales volume, availability, payroll, and overtime.
- Build a positive culture through respect, recognition, and rewards.
Financial Management:
- Audit operations, provide feedback, and develop improvement solutions.
- Understand budgets and cost trends.
- Create business plans, perform financial analysis, and control cash, property, and equipment.
- Drive sales, control labor and food costs, and meet operational targets.
Operations Management:
- Maintain operational standards and address maintenance issues.
- Ensure communication across the organization.
- Use provided tools to coach and develop staff.
- Ensure compliance with risk management standards.
Additional Info
- Lifting and climbing requirements.
- Stand/walk for up to 10 hours/day.
- Minimum High School Diploma or GED; some college preferred.
- Must be 18+ years old.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and adaptable to new systems.
- 5+ years of supervisory experience in food service, retail, or restaurants.
- Financial analysis skills, including P&L statements.
- Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Passion for hospitality and guest service.
- Flexibility to work 50-60 hours/week, including weekends and holidays.
- Problem-solving and feedback acceptance skills.
- Goal-setting, performance measurement, and culture cultivation abilities.
- Represent the brand's culture and mission to Serve the World Flavor.
