Job summary

Vireo Health of Rocky Mountain is seeking a General Manager for our Las Cruces dispensary to lead operations, ensure regulatory compliance, optimize inventory, and drive sales.

You will oversee staff schedules, merchandising, and budgeting, collaborating with teams company-wide to deliver exceptional customer experiences. A bachelor’s degree and 5+ years in cannabis retail management are preferred.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree in business or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a retail management position.
  • Proven experience in retail management, preferably in the cannabis industry.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Demonstrated skills in people management and development.
  • Strong customer service expertise, including supervising retail associates and experience in handling invoices and cash.
  • Professionalism, punctuality, trustworthiness, and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with various business technologies, hardware, and software, including HR systems for timesheet management, time clocks, POS systems, and the Microsoft Office suite.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure daily operations exceed performance metrics and customer expectations.
  • Oversee product merchandising and ensure an attractive and organized store layout.
  • Develop and implement staff schedules to meet business needs and ensure excellent customer service.

  • Stay compliant with state and local cannabis regulations and maintain robust protocols.
  • Coordinate internal and external audits and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Train, mentor, and evaluate staff; manage the dispensary budget and analyze revenue and expenses.

What the role is about:

As the General Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our dispensary operations. Your leadership and strategic direction will be pivotal in ensuring compliance with regulations, optimizing inventory management, achieving sales goals, and fostering a culture of excellence within the team. Your collaborative spirit will be essential as you work closely with individuals across the company to achieve common goals.

What impact you’ll make:
Operational Leadership (40%)
  • Provide strategic direction and leadership to the dispensary team
  • Ensure daily operations exceed performance metrics and customer expectations
  • Oversee product merchandising and ensure an attractive and organized store layout
  • Develop and implement staff schedules to meet business needs and ensure excellent customer service
  • Monitor and improve supply chain logistics to optimize product availability and reduce stockouts
Compliance Management (30%)
  • Ensure strict adherence to all state and local cannabis regulations
  • Develop and maintain robust compliance protocols, including record-keeping
  • Coordinate and oversee internal and external audits, implementing corrective actions as needed
  • Stay updated on evolving cannabis laws and ensure staff compliance with changes
Team Development and Financial Management (30%)
  • Train and mentor staff to cultivate a culture of professionalism and expertise
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations, offering constructive feedback for growth
  • Implement training programs to keep staff informed about products and regulations
  • Foster a motivated, high-performance team focused on customer satisfaction
  • Develop and manage the dispensary's budget, analyzing revenue and expense
  • Monitor and report on key financial performance indicators

What you’ve accomplished:
  • A bachelor's degree in business or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a retail management position

  • Must be at least 21 years of age

  • Possess professionalism, punctuality, trustworthiness, and excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Working Conditions (Schedule, Environment, Travel)
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs. or more multiple times per day
  • Stores are open 7 days a week from 8:00 am – 11:45 pm (varying by location), nights, weekends & holidays
  • The schedule will vary depending on the needs of the business
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an active Marijuana Enforcement Division (MED) badge in the state of Colorado
