  • Experience with Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBA) and working with unions is preferred.

Job Summary:

This posting is for future openings and new opportunities for General Managers in California. Salary ranges will vary from $100,000-$170,000/year based on contract size, location, and experience level.

  • Execution of client’sservice planning. Works with client to improve scheduling/blocking and recommends real-time schedulingadjustments based on service demands and/or disruptions.
  • Developsand accounts for an annual operating and capital budget; monitors andensures compliance of monthly and annual financial targets. Usesoperational performance indicators to influence financial results daily.
  • Develops and maintains effective working relations withteams, colleagues, the union, the public, medical and governmentalagencies, elected officials and board of trustees.
  • Provides oversight, direction and coordination of staffin the provision of cost effective, efficient and reliable transitservices within available and financial resources.
  • Provides input and feedback to the board on thedevelopment of policies and external factors which have a direct impact onthe achievement of specific goals and objectives.
EssentialFunctions / Process Responsibilities include the following: other duties may beassigned as necessary:
Safety & Compliance
  • Works with allcompany and local team members to create a strong, vibrant, and engaging safetyculture.
  • Oversees the agency safety plan (PTASP) andits implementation and reporting to the client.
  • Ensures compliance with local, state, andfederal laws and regulations (EPA, OSHA, DOT, ADA, and EEOC).
Leadership
  • Overallmanagement and responsibility for the location’s financial, operational andemployee performance and development – managing to budget, hitting set targets,supporting standard operating procedures, and guiding/delivering qualityservice through performance management.
  • Overseesand directs through operating and department managers the financial, people,human resources, and operating service programs of the Authority.
  • Able tobuild a strong leadership team and ensure leaders have the necessary skills,tools, and resources to build their individual departments, this includesdeveloping and coaching for success.
Business Acumen
  • Strongentrepreneurial skills with the ability to create a strategic vision that growsand develops the local team, the community, the contract with the client andthe mission and goals of RATP Dev USA to include finance/budgeting, people,human resource, and operational performance and safety.
  • Understandand monitor trends of the business and community, opportunities for growth,what are the potential risks, and when to pivot in order to keep thelocation/financials satisfactory.
  • Satisfiesclient, corporate, and contractual reporting requirements and needs.
Interpersonal/Engagement
  • Developsand maintains strong, effective relationships with community leaders, privateemployers, governmental authorities, legislators, taxpayer groups and the userpublic to enlist financial and related ridership program support for publictransit services.
  • Must havestrong verbal and written communication that is clear, concise, andtransparent, encouraging an “open-door” policy.
  • Prioritizesemployee engagement and retention strategies
PreferredEducation and Experience:

A bachelor’s degree with major course work in business, transportation,or public administration and five (5) years of job related managerial orcomparable administrative experience preferably in a public transit agency; orsubstituting an advanced master’s degree in a job-related curriculum for one(1) year of desired experience. Drugtest and pre-employment physical is required.Subject to random alcohol and drug testing.

Clear understandingof Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA, union contracts), working with unions,labor negotiations/contracts, and grievance procedures.
