Job summary

Tyson Foods in Georgia is seeking an Operations Manager to oversee the daily running of the assigned production area, ensuring safe, efficient manufacturing of high-quality products.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years general knowledge of production techniques, procedures, product yields and quality, and USDA and OSHA regulations.
  • Basic computer skills.

  • Supervisory responsibilities: This position is responsible for supervising a group of personnel who perform somewhat identical and related tasks or activities.

  • Monitor and maintain records related to attendance, payroll, production, safety, ergonomics, and TQM.
  • Promote continuous improvement by encouraging new ideas and supporting Team Member-driven initiatives.
  • Analyze non-routine operational issues and provide recommendations to the Plant Manager.
  • Ensure compliance with USDA regulations and all applicable federal and state requirements.
  • Manage safety, production yields, product quality, team member relations, turnover and absenteeism, discipline and performance, payroll, staffing, and line speeds.

Job Details: SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for the overall operation of the assigned business area, ensuring the efficient and safe manufacturing of high-quality products in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading and managing the day-to-day operations of the assigned area.
  • Providing supervisors with the information, materials, resources, and training needed to achieve production, quality, and safety goals.
  • Monitoring and maintaining records related to attendance, payroll, production, safety, ergonomics, and Total Quality Management (TQM).
  • Promoting continuous improvement by encouraging new ideas and supporting Team Member-driven initiatives.
  • Analyzing non-routine operational issues and providing recommendations and solutions to the Plant Manager.
  • Ensuring compliance with USDA regulations, as well as all applicable federal and state requirements.

Managing all aspects of the assigned operation, including:

  • Safety

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Education: Education beyond high school including special training, vocational school, and/or college courses, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: 3 plus years general knowledge of production techniques, procedures, product yields and quality, and USDA and OSHA regulations. Processing management experience preferred.
  • Computer Skills: Basic computer skills.
  • Communication Skills: Strong communication skills.
  • Travel: As required.
