Job summary

Tyson Foods in Georgia is seeking a Plant Operations Supervisor to oversee the overall operation of the assigned area. You will ensure the efficient and safe manufacturing of high-quality products in accordance with company policies and procedures.

You will lead daily operations, equip supervisors with needed information and training, monitor attendance, payroll, production and safety records, and drive continuous improvement while ensuring USDA/OSHA compliance and strong team dynamics.

Qualifications

• Education beyond high school or college courses or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years in production, yields, quality and regulatory compliance (USDA/OSHA).
• Strong communication and supervisory capabilities.
• Willingness to travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage day-to-day operations of the assigned area.
• Provide supervisors with information, resources and training to meet goals.
• Monitor attendance, payroll, production, safety, ergonomics and TQM records.
• Promote continuous improvement and support team initiatives.
• Analyze non-routine issues and report to Plant Manager.

SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for the overall operation of the assigned business area, ensuring the efficient and safe manufacturing of high-quality products in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading and managing the day-to-day operations of the assigned area.
• Providing supervisors with the information, materials, resources, and training needed to achieve production, quality, and safety goals.
• Monitoring and maintaining records related to attendance, payroll, production, safety, ergonomics, and Total Quality Management (TQM).
• Promoting continuous improvement by encouraging new ideas and supporting Team Member-driven initiatives.
• Analyzing non-routine operational issues and providing recommendations and solutions to the Plant Manager.
• Ensuring compliance with USDA regulations, as well as all applicable federal and state requirements.
• Managing all aspects of the assigned operation, including:
  • Safety
  • Production yields
  • Product quality
  • Team Member relations
  • Turnover and absenteeism
  • Discipline and performance management
  • Payroll
  • Staffing
  • Line speeds

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Education: Education beyond high school including special training, vocational school, and/or college courses, or equivalent experience.
• Experience: 3 plus years general knowledge of production techniques, procedures, product yields and quality, and USDA and OSHA regulations. Processing management experience preferred.
• Computer Skills: Basic computer skills.
• Communication Skills: Strong communication skills.
• Travel: As required.
• Supervisory Responsibilities: This position is responsible for supervising a group of personnel who perform somewhat identical and related tasks or activities.
