Our General Managers (GMs) play a pivotal role in defining and executing eHealth’s marketing and growth strategies for their business unit. They lead a cross-functional team to design, develop, and implement a roadmap of business initiatives, customer experience and marketing campaigns that generate leads, increase tele sales and ecommerce conversion, lower acquisition cost, drive retention and improve financial and performance reporting. Your work will be instrumental in enhancing eHealth’s Medicare Supplement (MS) and Ancillary business by driving our value proposition to consumers and ensuring profitable growth while maintaining a strong, differentiated brand in the competitive healthcare marketplace.
The General Manager, Medicare Supplement & Ancillary Products (GM) will work closely with executive leadership, sales, product, marketing, finance, operational teams, and other product GMs to develop and execute integrated, omni-channel strategies that resonate with consumers and businesses seeking health insurance. They will be accountable for delivering measurable results, including revenue growth, customer acquisition and overall business unit performance. The General Manager will bring an analytical skill set with a focus on maximizing ROI, audience-obsession, intellectual curiosity to challenge status quo, operational mindset to scale successful innovation, a track record of delivering superior results and passion for culture and servant leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership & Growth: Develop and execute a comprehensive roadmap for growth, investment, and resource prioritization. Collaborate with executive leadership, business partners, and other product GMs to set strategic goals, define priorities, and share progress, insights, and implications of key initiatives.
- Business Agility: Navigate differing executive perspectives with confidence—using insight, data, and future-focused strategy to build belief, align leaders, and accelerate progress on MS and Ancillary products.
- Customer Acquisition and Marketing Strategy Execution: Utilize data-driven marketing initiatives focused on lead generation, customer acquisition, and retention. Partner with Marketing team to understand the unique MS customer profile and optimize channel investments to achieve measurable ROI, improve conversion rates, and enhance customer satisfaction.
- Operational Excellence: Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring workflow efficiency, compliance, and financial performance. Analyze business metrics to identify opportunities for improvement and implement action plans to drive results.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with sales, product, engineering, finance, and operational teams to ensure alignment and effective execution of initiatives. Lead efforts to enhance self-service and call center experiences, driving customer acquisition and operational scalability.
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Utilize analytics to guide strategy, monitor performance, and identify growth opportunities. Continuously refine campaigns and tactics through A/B testing and optimization strategies.
- Team Leadership & Development: Build, mentor, and lead high-performing cross-functional teams in a matrixed environment. Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and innovation while setting clear performance expectations and providing regular feedback.
- Customer & Market Insights: Utilize market research and competitor analysis to anticipate trends, adapt to industry changes, and refine value propositions unique to MS customers. Use insights to improve messaging, targeting, and overall customer experience.
- Creative Strategy & Industry Leadership: Oversee the creation of impactful content and thought leadership materials that resonate with target audiences. Represent the organization at industry events, trade shows, and webinars as a brand ambassador.

Ideal Experience & Qualifications :
- 15+ years of senior general management experience, ideally with 10+ years in healthcare or insurance leadership roles.
- Demonstrated success scaling businesses and driving revenue growth in fast-moving, competitive markets.
- Strong financial acumen, with deep expertise in P&L management and interpreting blended financials.
- Deep understanding of the healthcare ecosystem, including insurance products, sales dynamics, and regulatory frameworks.
- In-depth knowledge of Medicare Supplement (Med Supp) and Ancillary products and customer profiles.
- Data-first decision-maker with a proven ability to leverage analytics to optimize performance and boost customer lifetime value (LTV).
- Inspiring leader with a track record of influencing and mobilizing cross-functional teams—often without direct authority—to achieve strategic goals.
- Skilled communicator and storyteller, able to distill complex ideas into clear, compelling narratives for diverse audiences.
- Growth-oriented mindset with the ability to champion a bold Med Supp vision and rally teams around it.
- Highly effective project manager, adept at balancing multiple priorities and driving execution across varied stakeholders and timelines.

The base pay range reflects the anticipated pay range for this position. The actual base pay offered will depend on various factors including individual skills, experience, performance, qualifications, the department budget, and the location where work is performed.
