Salary: $110,000 - $120,000

Job Summary

As the General Manager for Manhattanville University, you will lead all campus dining operations. You will implement our dining and culinary vision by creating excitement and enthusiasm, following corporate programs and guidelines. Your role will focus on driving guest satisfaction and engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the campus community to operate and improve the campus dining and catering programs.
  • Promote awareness of the dining program and develop nutritional and dietary initiatives, residential life interactions, etc.
  • Coordinate and execute programming and events.
  • Work closely with the Dean for Students, Residential Life, and other departments to meet students’ needs.
  • Analyze customer research and market conditions to proactively take action.
  • Manage the productivity of culinary, catering, and front-of-house teams.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction and positive public relations through safe and efficient resource use.
  • Oversee staff providing retail services according to policies and presentation standards.
  • Implement cash handling standards to prevent theft of services or funds.
  • Oversee P&L, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, students, and the campus community.
  • Collaborate with the Chef and management team to create nutritious, high-quality food.
  • Implement new culinary programs with the marketing and culinary teams.
  • Monitor industry trends and best practices.
  • Develop and set operating standards, including yearly business plans and quarterly reviews.
  • Present and achieve financial targets aligned with sector finance.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Over five years of progressive management experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of food and catering trends, quality, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation.
  • Proficiency with computers, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Outlook, email, and internet.
  • Experience with high-volume, complex foodservice operations is highly desirable.
  • ServSafe Certification.
