Job summary

KidStrong is seeking a driven General Manager for our NYC area center. You will lead a dynamic team of coaches and staff, own center operations, and drive sales, membership growth, and member satisfaction.

The schedule includes 4 weekdays and 1 weekend day, with flexibility to meet center needs. You’ll oversee daily operations, coach several classes weekly as needed, and partner with leadership to execute growth initiatives while delivering an outstanding member experience.

Qualifications

• 1–3+ years of experience in management, sales, customer service, or operations.
• Background in children's programming, fitness, education, or athletics is a plus.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Must be available to work weekends as the GM, owning center operations.

• Oversee sales, operations, and customer experience to drive growth and retention.
• Work closely with the Assistant GM and Lead Coach to ensure smooth center operations.
• Engage with the community and grow class sizes through scheduling and marketing strategies.
• Lead from the front by coaching 3–5 classes per week as needed.
• Recruit, hire, and train new coaches while ensuring program excellence.
• Maintain a clean, organized facility with a roll up your sleeves mentality.

Competitive Compensation

Base Salary: Minimum starting at $70,000+, depending on experience with children, coaching, leadership, and team development.

What We Expect From You

This is not a typical 9-to-5 job. As the General Manager of a KidStrong center, you are the leader and driving force behind its success. Your schedule will include 4 weekdays and 1 weekend day. While the schedule includes designated days off, true ownership means being present when needed—whether to support your team, engage with members, or seize opportunities to grow the center. The most successful GMs take pride in their role, embracing the flexibility and commitment required to build something great.
