Position Overview

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced General Manager to oversee the overall operations of our Minuteman Convenience store. As the salaried General Manager, you will be responsible for driving sales, ensuring excellent customer service, managing the store team, and achieving business targets. This salaried position will manage a complex, high performance, high volume, location based on annual inside sales exceeding $900k. You will create a positive and productive work environment, while maintaining the store's visual appeal and upholding company standards. The ideal candidate should possess strong leadership skills, a customer-focused mindset, and a passion for delivering exceptional retail experiences. Essential Job Functions

• Develop and execute strategies to drive sales growth, achieve revenue targets, and maximize profitability.
• Foster a customer-centric environment by training and motivating the store team to deliver exceptional service and build lasting customer relationships.
• Recruit, hire, train, and develop a high-performing store team, including sales associates, cashiers, and other support staff.
• Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and performance evaluations to enhance employee performance and foster professional growth.
• Oversee inventory management, including ordering, receiving, and ensuring accurate stock levels to meet customer demands.
• Implement visual merchandising strategies to optimize product placement, maintain appealing displays, and enhance the overall shopping experience.
• Analyze sales data, monitor key performance indicators, and take proactive measures to address sales trends, identify opportunities, and minimize risks.
• Control operational costs, including labor expenses, supplies, and other operational expenditures, to meet budgetary goals.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety regulations to create a safe and secure environment for both employees and customers.
• Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and adherence to visual standards.
• Cultivate positive relationships with customers, addressing their concerns, resolving issues, and seeking opportunities for improvement.
• Stay updated on industry trends, competitive landscape, and consumer preferences to implement effective strategies and drive innovation.
• Prepare and analyze financial reports, such as sales figures, expenses, and profit margins, to inform decision-making and drive performance improvements.
• Collaborate with other departments, such as marketing and purchasing, to align strategies, implement promotions, and support overall business objectives.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, or a related field. Relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Proven experience as a Store Manager, Retail Manager, or similar leadership role in the retail industry.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, motivate, and develop a diverse team.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to engage with customers, employees, and stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to drive sales growth and achieve business targets.
• Sound business acumen with a strong understanding of retail operations, inventory management, and visual merchandising.
• Proficiency in using computer systems, point-of-sale (POS) software, and other retail-related tools.
• Knowledge of labor laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple responsibilities effectively.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
