Job summary

CareerNerds, LLC seeks a General Manager to own the HVAC/plumbing division’s operations and finances, driving profitability and scaling revenue through disciplined field workflows and pricing strategies.

You will lead field technicians, dispatch, and office staff, manage budgets and safety, and develop sales strategies for commercial maintenance and residential memberships. This role requires strong leadership and excellent communication to balance fast-paced field work with growth.

Qualifications

• Three to five years of experience in managing projects in construction; or bachelor’s degree in construction science or related fields; or an equivalent certification combined with experience, and education preferred.
• Extensive knowledge and work experience in the trade of HVAC and general construction.
• California Driver License, with clean DMV record
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Strong organizational and administrative skills
• Strong and solid typing skills, and a proficiency with Microsoft Office and Excel Software programs
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Uses independent judgment and discretion in prioritizing and managing situations
• Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, overtime and weekends as required
• Familiarity with computers and software programs for job costing, scheduling, and estimating
• Ability to be flexible, decisive, and work effectively under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
• Coordinate several major activities at once, while analyzing and resolving specific problems
• Establish and maintain good working relationships with many different people inside and outside of the company

Position Overview

As the General Manager, you will take full ownership of the division’s operational and financial success.
