Responsibilities

1. Be available to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and varied shifts.
2. Focus on achievement of hotel financial goals / budget targets.
3. Ensure payroll and purchasing controls are in place to maintain and exceed profit goals.
4. Develop accurate and aggressive long and short-range financial objectives consistent with property objectives.
5. Ensure compliance with all Shaner and franchise operating standards.
6. Be accessible to guests and employees.
7. Maintain complete knowledge of hotel features, room types, rates, availability, and expected arrivals/departures.
8. Handle guest complaints to ensure guest satisfaction.
9. Assist staff with their job functions to ensure optimal service to guests.
10. Lead employee performance to ensure productivity and a positive work environment.
11. Establish, maintain, and train standards and procedures for cleaning and safety in all departments.
12. Work to achieve high scores in customer service, cleanliness, and other inspection criteria.
13. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

1. Minimum of five years of progressive leadership experience in hospitality.
2. Effective communication skills with guests, management, and staff.
3. High school diploma or equivalent; college degree in hospitality management or business preferred; CHA designation a plus.
4. Bilingual in English/Spanish is advantageous.
5. Knowledge of budget preparation and cost controls.
6. Familiarity with all hotel departments.
7. Ability to interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and manuals.
8. Proficiency in report writing and communication skills.
9. Ability to speak effectively before groups.
10. Good judgment and ability to follow instructions.
11. Knowledge of property management systems.
12. Knowledge of local activities and attractions for guests.
