Overview Of The General Manager Role

You will hire and develop great people, lead to achieve sales and expense goals, manage store operations, maintain inventory and visual standards, and ensure excellent customer service and team relationships.

Responsibilities
  • Meet or exceed sales, contest, and payroll goals based on current trends
  • Plan and adjust schedules and daily activities to meet business objectives
  • Train and motivate associates in sales, customer service, and product knowledge
  • Assess performance and provide ongoing feedback
  • Conduct performance appraisals and development plans
  • Ensure an exceptional customer experience and store environment
  • Manage staffing coverage and store presence effectively
  • Create a fair, respectful environment aligned with our “People First” philosophy
  • Collaborate with District Managers and peers to develop best practices
Criteria
  • Proven ability to manage staff to exceed sales while controlling payroll
  • Ability to identify talent, build teams, and develop staff
  • Strong problem-solving and multitasking skills
  • Leadership by example and effective communication skills
  • 4+ years management experience in retail
Physical Requirements
  • Mobility on the sales floor for extended periods
  • Ability to lift and move items up to 75 lbs.
  • Successful background check required
  • Open availability for full-time or part-time associates, including weekends and holiday seasons
