Position Summary

The General Manager of Flatbed Operations is responsible for the overall leadership, performance, recruiting, and strategic direction of the company’s flatbed division. This role oversees daily operations, fleet performance, safety compliance, driver management, and customer service while driving efficiency, profitability, and service excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership

• Provide strategic and day-to-day leadership of the flatbed division
• Oversee dispatch, planning, and load management to ensure efficient utilization of assets
• Monitor and improve key operational metrics including revenue per truck, utilization, and on-time service
• Develop and execute operational strategies to support company growth and profitability

Fleet & Driver Management

• Lead driver management efforts, including performance monitoring, coaching, and engagement
• Recruit to ensure adequate driver staffing levels
• Drive initiatives to improve driver satisfaction, productivity, and retention
• Ensure alignment between drivers, dispatch, and customer expectations

Safety & Compliance

• Champion a safety-first culture across the flatbed operation
• Ensure compliance with DOT regulations, company policies, and industry standards
• Oversee flatbed-specific securement practices and training
• Partner with safety teams to reduce accidents, claims, and violations
• Manage the P&L for the flatbed division
• Develop budgets, forecasts, and cost-control strategies

Qualifications
