Job summary

The Ghoman Group in Lebanon, Indiana, is seeking an experienced General Manager to steer hotel operations, drive profitability, and maintain exceptional guest service standards across all departments. You will craft strategy, oversee budgets, and develop the executive team in a luxury setting.

Ideal candidates will have 15–20 years in hospitality, including 5–10 years as GM or Asst. GM, with strong P&L acumen and vendor management in international markets.

Qualifications

• University degree in hotel management or a related field.
• 15–20 years of hospitality experience, with luxury and international exposure.
• 5–10 years of experience as a General Manager or Asst. General Manager.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the operations functions of the hotel, as per the Organizational chart.
• Hold regular briefings and meetings with all heads of departments.
• Ensure full compliance with hotel operating controls, SOPs, policies, procedures, and service standards.
• Lead all key property issues including capital projects, customer service, and refurbishment.
• Handling complaints, and overseeing the service recovery procedures.
• Responsible for the preparation, presentation, and budget achievement of the hotel’s annual Operating Budget, Marketing, and sales Plan and Capital Budget.
• Manage ongoing profitability of the hotel, ensuring revenue and guest satisfaction targets are met and exceeded.
• Deliver hotel budget goals and set other short and long-term strategic goals for the property.
• Developing improvement actions, and carrying out cost savings.
• Strong understanding of P&L statements and the ability to react with impactful strategies.
• Monitor daily business reports and make decisions accordingly.
• Ensure monthly financial outlooks for Rooms, F&B, Admin & General, are on target and accurate.
• Maximize room yield and hotel revenue through yield management programs.
• Prepare monthly financial report for owners and stakeholders.
• Draw up plans and budgets for owners.
• Assist in procurement and vendor contracts for equipment and services.
• Act as final decision maker in hiring key staff.
• Coordinate with HODs for execution of activities and functions.
• Oversee and manage all departments and work with heads daily.
• Develop the Hotel Executive team for career progression.
• Be accountable for department heads and guest complaints.
• Provide effective leadership to hotel team members.
• Lead in all aspects of business planning.
• Respond to audits to ensure continual improvement.

Job Responsibilities

• Overseeing and managing all departments and working closely with department heads daily.
• Manage and develop the Hotel Executive team to ensure career progression and development.
• Be accountable for the responsibilities of department heads and take ownership of all guest complaints.
• Provide effective leadership to hotel team members.

• Respond to audits to ensure continual improvement is achieved.
• Corporate client handling and taking part in new client acquisition along with the sales team whenever required.
• Assisting in residential sales as and when required and developing strong sales prospects.
• Responsible for safeguarding the quality of operations both (internal & external audits).
• Responsible for legalization, Occupational Health & Safety Act, fire regulations, and other legal requirements.

Job Qualification

Education

A university degree in hotel management or a related field with Experience in opening, managing, or re-positioning a hotel with a clear track record. Excellent computer system skills.

Experience

At least 15 to 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry, with significant luxury and international experience, ideally including experience in remote locations. And 5 to 10 years of experience as a General Manager or Asst. General Manager.
