Acuity is seeking a General Manager to lead the strategy, development, and ongoing improvement of its distribution capability development programs. You will own agency education, continuing education, onboarding, and capability development initiatives across the enterprise.

You will partner with Distribution leadership to identify capability needs, improve readiness, and enhance agency performance and engagement across states. This role requires strategic leadership with hands-on execution.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree and/or insurance industry designations preferred.
• Significant experience in property and casualty insurance distribution, agency development, training, education, field leadership, or related business functions.

Acuity is seeking aGeneral Manager - Distribution Capacity to lead the strategy, development, execution, and continuous improvement of Acuity’s distribution capability development programs that strengthen agency engagement, field effectiveness, operational readiness, and enterprise business performance. In this role, you will serve as the enterprise owner of agency education, continuing education (CE), distribution onboarding, and capability development programs that support Acuity’s distribution strategy. As a member of Staff Functions, you will partner closely with Distribution leadership to identify capability needs, improve readiness, strengthen business performance, and enhance the experience of agency partners.

This position will close internally and externally Monday, 9/28/26.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead the strategy, development, execution, and continuous improvement of distribution capability development programs that support field effectiveness, agency engagement, operational readiness, and enterprise business performance.
• Lead the execution and seamless adoption of departmental projects and initiatives, ensuring effective planning, communication, change management, stakeholder alignment, and integration into ongoing business operations.
• Develop and maintain agency onboarding programs that ensure newly appointed agencies are effectively introduced to Acuity’s products, systems, underwriting approach, operational processes, onboarding roadmap, and test quote procedures.
• Develop and lead a comprehensive distribution capability development program that supports the effectiveness of Territory Directors and the broader agency partner network.
• Design and implement a train-the-trainer model that equips Territory Directors to educate agency partners on products, underwriting appetite, systems, sales positioning, and market strategy.
• Lead the development and delivery of technical product training for Territory Directors and agency partners, ensuring strong understanding of coverage, underwriting appetite, product positioning, and business priorities.
• Oversee training related to distribution systems and tools, including quoting platforms, comparative raters, and other agency-facing technology solutions.
• Develop and maintain CE-approved courses and agency education programs that support product knowledge, risk management education, industry expertise, and agency partner capability.
• Serve as enterprise owner of Acuity’s agency Continuing Education (CE) program across 31 states, ensuring compliance with state insurance department requirements and regulations.
• Oversee CE course development, filings, renewals, administration, documentation, and audit readiness.
• Collaborate with Distribution, Underwriting, Product Management, Marketing, Compliance, Technology, and Learning & Development to ensure training, CE, and readiness materials reflect current offerings, operational processes, regulatory requirements, and future capability needs.
• Support Territory Directors and internal subject matter experts in preparing and delivering training sessions for agency partners, including coordination of non-CE training for field events when additional resources are needed, coordinating agent events, and managing attendance.
• Ensure training and capability development materials remain current with evolving products, underwriting guidelines, regulatory changes, technology platforms, and business priorities.
• Monitor regulatory developments impacting distribution-related continuing education requirements and implement updates to maintain compliance.
• Measure participation, effectiveness, and business impact of distribution training, CE, and capability development programs, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Build strong working relationships with Territory Directors, agency partners, and internal business partners to ensure programs address real-world distribution needs and support agency success.
• Support distribution leadership initiatives requiring field, agency, or capability development programs.
• Manage departmental audits, including but not limited to agency personnel, errors and omissions, and collections.
• Verify and document systems and organizational controls for distribution third-party vendors.

EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s degree required. Advanced degree and/or insurance industry designations preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

• Significant experience in property and casualty insurance distribution, agency development, training, education, field leadership, or related business functions.
• Demonstrated success designing, implementing, and continuously improving large-scale education, onboarding, or capability development programs.
• Experience leading cross-functional initiatives and partnering with business leaders to improve performance and drive strategic outcomes.
• Experience developing and measuring programs that improve workforce readiness, customer experience, or business outcomes.
