Job summary

Ceatec is expanding into the United States and seeks a General Manager to establish and grow the business in the US. You will oversee all aspects of operations, from legal setup to staff recruitment and day-to-day management, reporting to the MD in Europe.

You will build a local team, manage projects, and ensure profitability while nurturing key stakeholder relationships to drive successful market entry.

Qualifications

• Proven track record with 5+ years in a leadership role within the engineering/construction sector.
• At least 10 years of mechanical engineering experience.
• Experience budgeting, managing pipelines, and leading engineering teams.
• Ability to build relationships with government agencies, clients and vendors.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with initiative to drive growth.
• Excellent English communication; German would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead the establishment of US operations including legal setup and facilities.
• Build and manage a local team: recruit, train and develop staff.
• Oversee delivery of engineering projects with high quality and client satisfaction.
• Maintain financial oversight: budgets, forecasts and profitability.
• Report progress and budget adherence to the Managing Director.

We are looking for a dynamic, experienced, and entrepreneurial General Manager to lead the establishment of our operations.

Job Description

As General Manager, you will play a pivotal role in establishing and growing our business in the United States. You will oversee all aspects of the company’s operations in the region, from legal setup to recruitment of staff and day‑to‑day management. You will report directly to the Managing Director and work closely with our leadership team in Europe to execute our expansion plan effectively and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the establishment of the company’s operations in the US, including legal registration, facilities set‑up, and hiring processes.
• Build and manage a local team, including recruiting, training, and developing the team.
• Oversee the delivery of engineering projects, ensuring high‑quality outcomes and client satisfaction.
• Maintain financial oversight, managing budgets, forecasts, and profitability.
• Report regularly to the MD on progression of projects and adherence to budgets.

Qualifications

• Proven experience (5+ years) in a leadership role within the engineering and construction industry, with at least 10 years of mechanical engineering experience.
• Experience in managing budgeting, project pipelines, and engineering teams.
• Ability to build and nurture relationships with local stakeholders, including government agencies, clients, and vendors.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to take initiative and drive business growth.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in English; fluency in German would also be advantageous.
• Strong project management skills and experience overseeing complex projects.
