Job description

Summary:

Accountable for managing all aspects of a high-volume supply chain logistics operation to ensure consistent high-level service quality and customer satisfaction, profitability, cost efficiency, and compliance with company policies and procedures, ISO standards, Sarbanes-Oxley requirements, and other regulatory guidelines. Models and acts in accordance with our guiding principles and core values.

Typical Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and direct customer service efforts across all station departments, maintaining ongoing customer relations and focusing on daily operations based on customer needs. Communicate daily with customers to discuss service needs and potential issues.
  • Ensure attainment of profit objectives for contracts, providing financial analysis and decision-making support for customers.
  • Drive organic growth and develop additional business opportunities with existing customers.
  • Ensure safety, maintain quality, and establish and monitor cost control programs.
  • Lead and foster creative problem solving, developing positive and professional relationships with customers and within contracts.
  • Coordinate with government departments, social groups, etc.
  • Provide leadership in coaching, mentoring, personnel selection, and professional development.
  • Oversee operations management within company guidelines.
  • Manage operations schedules and staff to meet customer needs, ensuring sufficient labor and controlling costs.
  • Support and guide hiring managers.
  • Manage contract staff to ensure continued quality service through procedures, testing, and training of managerial and operational personnel.
  • Maintain corporate productivity and quality award programs to recognize outstanding performance.
  • Encourage the use of Performance Management systems and maintain quality performance objectives through continuous improvement processes.
  • Train managers and personnel to achieve contract goals and satisfy customers.
  • Establish ongoing programs for continuous improvement, including Kaizen, LEAN, and EQS.
  • Motivate workforce through Performance Management, Employee Involvement Groups, and reward programs.
  • Monitor and control costs via budget development, P&L reviews, payroll, and analysis.
  • Handle daily contract administration, including performance reports, correspondence, and vendor requests.
  • Negotiate and enforce collective bargaining agreements where applicable.
  • Resolve workplace conflicts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Ability to interpret business, technical, and regulatory documents.
  • Experience in driving revenue growth, customer retention, and managing profitability across multiple sites.
  • Deep knowledge of managing revenue, budgets, EBITDA, operations, customer service, and personnel.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, internet, web-based supply chain or transportation software, and financial applications.
  • Effective communication and interaction skills with diverse backgrounds.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication, including persuasion, influence, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Experience in project management methodologies focused on strategic planning.
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills, with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Exceptional planning, organization, decision-making, and time management skills.
  • Business acumen in managing multi-site organizations, P&L, budgeting, and operational planning.
  • Strategic thinking and change management capabilities.
  • Fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking).
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, 3PL, or Transportation.
  • At least 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Expertise in operations and business management.
  • Experience managing multiple geographically dispersed sites with delegation skills.
