General Manager Job Summary:

As the face of Capriotti’s, you will uphold our mission by ensuring high standards of quality and service—serving hot food hot, cold food cold, and maintaining cleanliness and professionalism with a smile.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and lead teams through effective recruitment, hiring, and performance management strategies.
  • Coach, develop, and motivate team members according to Capriotti’s standards, fostering growth and retention.
  • Prepare team schedules focusing on operational excellence, cost management, guest satisfaction, and team morale.
  • Model standards and uphold the culture of delivering captivating service.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain good relations regarding food prep and facility maintenance.
  • Prepare products according to specifications, maintaining quality and presentation standards.
  • Maintain recipe integrity for a consistent guest experience.
  • Handle cash management and bank deposits.
  • Monitor budgets, costs, payroll, and financial transactions.
  • Encourage a sales-oriented environment through suggestive selling and counter service focus.
  • Manage purchasing, inventory, receiving, and waste monitoring effectively.
  • Participate in and promote marketing initiatives, including local shop marketing.
  • Use effective communication to foster positive relationships with team members, guests, vendors, and the brand.
  • Build an environment of trust within the shop.
  • Demonstrate emotional resilience under pressure and during changing priorities.
  • Analyze information and evaluate results to solve problems effectively.

Qualifications:

  • Service orientation—actively seeks ways to help others.
  • Time management—multi-tasking skills, staying focused during busy shifts, organizing and prioritizing tasks.
  • Computer proficiency—experience with POS systems, email, spreadsheets, and documents.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work in temperatures from 0°F to 100°F.
  • Ability to move throughout the restaurant for extended periods.
  • Move up to 50 lbs. for short distances.
  • Balance and move up to 25 lbs. for longer distances.
