Sodexo is seeking a General Manager 3 Food to lead our dining services at Aviva Pembroke located in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Aviva Pembroke is retirement living at its best. This 7-story senior living community includes 121 independent living apartments, 20 assisted living apartments, and 12 memory support units. The General Manager will report to the District Manager and lead a team of 2 managers and 15 hourly employees. Strong communication, client relations, and team-building skills are essential.

What You'll Do
  • Have oversight of day-to-day dining operations (dining room service);
  • Drive employee engagement and resident satisfaction through strong leadership skills;
  • Integrate fully within our client's organization and be a trusted advisor with a customer service focus;
  • Achieve company and client financial targets and goals;
  • Ensure that the highest possible standards of food handling and preparation are achieved;
  • Provide technical training and expertise, coaching and leadership to the production team while working side by side in the operation as needed.

What You Bring
  • Prior food service management experience at the director level preferably in a senior living/healthcare environment
  • A passion for a high level of customer service
  • A strong financial acumen
  • The ability to develop trust and build strong client relationships while meeting the expectations of the client as well as Sodexo;
  • Demonstrated experience managing a culinary team and exceptional human resource skillset;
  • Hands-on manager with an innovative leadership approach to management;
  • Ability to work independently and make sound business decisions within company guidelines;
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities;
  • Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and overall workplace safety standards.
