Sodexo Campus Segment is seeking an experienced General Manager 1 – Conference Center to lead Conference Services at Maine Maritime Academy, a coastal public college known for its maritime and experiential learning focus.

Located in the picturesque coastal town of Castine, Maine, Maine Maritime Academy (MMA) is a small, public college known for its strong tradition of hands-on, experiential learning. Overlooking the serene waters of Penobscot Bay, MMA fosters a close-knit, supportive community with a focus on engineering, transportation, management, and ocean science. With its unique maritime heritage and global perspective, the Academy offers a distinctive educational environment rooted in real-world application.

The Academy’s Conference Services unit is responsible for coordinating and delivering high-impact events, conferences, camps, and trainings throughout the year. The team manages housing accommodations, meeting facilities, and food service partnerships to provide a seamless and high-quality experience. Working collaboratively with internal departments and external clients, Conference Services reflects MMA’s commitment to professionalism, hospitality, and operational excellence in every event hosted on campus.

What You'll Do
  • Oversee year-round conference, camp, and event operations on campus
  • Manage housing, meeting space logistics, and food service partnerships
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external clients to ensure seamless execution
  • Deliver high-quality, customized hospitality experiences in alignment with the Academy’s standards

Qualifications & Requirements

Minimum Education Requirement - Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience

Minimum Management Experience - 5 years

Minimum Functional Experience - 5 years of work experience in hospitality services including hotel management, conference center services, food services, etc.
