Job summary

The General Manager contributes to the success of Applebee’s through the direction and control of restaurant operations to ensure a positive guest experience and company profitability.

The General Manager’s responsibility is to direct the operation of the restaurant, attain sales and profit objectives, and maintain the highest standards of food quality, service, cleanliness, safety, and sanitation by directing and supervising managers and team members.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years of foodservice management experience.
• QSR or casual dining GM experience preferred.
• High School Diploma or GED required; an associate or bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• ServeSafe Certification preferred (training may be provided)

Responsibilities

• Direct operation of the restaurant to meet sales and profit objectives.
• Maintain high standards of food quality, service, cleanliness, safety and sanitation.
• Supervise and develop managers and team members to deliver consistent guest experiences.

Job Summary

Physical Requirements

• Frequently lift and carry items up to 70 lbs.
• Stand for extended periods (up to an entire shift)
• Bend, stoop, reach, push, and pull regularly for operations, stocking, and equipment use
• Use ladders occasionally
• Work in varying environments including hot kitchen areas and walk‑in coolers/freezers
• Communicate clearly with employees, guests, vendors, and leadership teams
