The General Manager is responsible for developing and managing a high performing multi-functional work team that coordinates daily activities to achieve business metrics.The General Manager will drive the financial performance of the plant and be actively involved in growing revenue, metric development and profitability by actively managing the key KPIs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Drive revenue growth by becoming actively engaged in the sales and onboarding process. Drive profitability by managing all resources to utilize the minimum to meet customer’s expectations in delivery and the company’s goals in costs.
- Ensure company business systems are followed by working closely with system owners and auditing the team’s effectiveness against those standards.
- Develop with support from the Leadership Team metrics for the plant. Review and drive improvement in metrics on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
- Be the decision maker to set priorities when different activities involve the same resources to ensure strategic, corporate initiatives are upheld.
- Coordinate and monitor the work involved in production, quality and engineering to ensure customer service metrics are met.
- Ensure quality of products through process control and training of personnel.
- Ensure equipment is monitored, maintained and available for use.
- Manage headcount ensuring productivity goals are met while maintaining flexibility to support business growth.
- Provide technical support where necessary
- Control operational budgets by using financial data to improve profitability.
- Ensure targeted production rates are obtainable or communicate need for adjustments.
- Control the cost of materials by reducing rework and other related wastes of poor process control
- Drive continuous improvement activities using Lean principles that are in alignment with the company’s strategic initiatives.
- With support of the Leadership Team, identify and establish priorities for process improvement projects to successfully achieve operational performance metrics
- Directly supervise the professional staff
- Operation Manager, Process Engineers, Quality Manager, Controller, Product Manager, Customer Service Manager, Scheduler/Planner, Supply Chain Lead and other functions as needed.
- Monitor and evaluate performance of all professional staff and participate in evaluating all team members as needed.
- Develop cross training amongst functions
- Perform other duties as assigned
EDUCATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, quality or similar technical field
- Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience with at least 1 year of production management
- Strong background in LEAN manufacturing with demonstrated experience in driving continuous improvement activity resulting in significant business gains
- Demonstrated ability to coach/mentor employee team members
- Proficient in all MS Office Products
