General Manager Job Summary
Sharing Our Passion One Sandwich at a Time: Your role is crucial in achieving Capriotti’s mission. You will be the face of the company, ensuring standards of quality and service by serving food that is hot, cold, fresh, and in a clean environment, all while wearing a full uniform and a smile.
General Manager Responsibilities
- Build teams by recruiting, hiring, and retaining top talent, and managing performance effectively.
- Coach, develop, and motivate team members following Capriotti’s training standards; identify growth opportunities.
- Prepare team schedules focusing on operational excellence, cost management, guest satisfaction, and team morale.
- Model standards and uphold the culture of delivering captivating service to guests.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and food preparation standards.
- Prepare products according to Capriotti’s specifications, maintaining quality and presentation.
- Maintain recipe integrity for a consistent guest experience.
- Manage cash and bank deposits responsibly.
- Monitor budgets, costs, labor, payroll, and financial transactions.
- Encourage a sales-oriented environment with suggestive selling and counter service focus.
- Implement effective purchasing, inventory, and waste control procedures.
- Participate in and promote marketing initiatives, including local shop marketing.
- Use effective communication skills to build positive relationships with team members, guests, vendors, and the brand.
- Foster trust within the shop environment.
- Demonstrate emotional resilience and adaptability under pressure.
- Analyze data and evaluate results to solve problems effectively.
Qualifications
Skills and Knowledge:
- Service orientation — actively seeks ways to assist others.
- Time management — ability to multi-task and stay focused during busy periods, organizing and prioritizing tasks effectively.
- Computer skills — experience with POS systems and proficiency in email, spreadsheets, and documentation.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to withstand temperatures from 0°F to 100°F.
- Ability to move throughout the restaurant for extended periods.
- Lift and move up to 50 lbs. for short distances.
- Balance and move up to 25 lbs. for longer distances.
