Job description

GENERAL MANAGER

PHILADELPHIA

THE BEST PEOPLE IN THE WORLD.

THE BEST-ISH BAGELS IN THE WORLD.

OUTTA THIS WORLD OPPORTUNITY.

DEEPER THAN BAGELS

Call Your Mother is the Jew-ish deli where Boca meets Brooklyn, grandma-level hospitality meets seriously good bagel sandwiches, and hard work meets face-melting vibes.

Husband-and-wife team Andrew and Chef Dani built Call Your Mother around a simple idea: make scrumptious, nostalgic food and unforgettable experiences without being bougie or taking ourselves too seriously. From our first little farmer’s market stand in 2018, to shops across the DMV, Colorado, Chicago, Philadelphia, and Miami in 2026, we’re spreading carb love all over the map and our ovens are just getting warmed up! We’ll take bagels to mars if the locals are hungry up there.

WE’RE HIRING A GENERAL MANAGER, BASED IN PHILADELPHIA!

At CYM we consider our GMs to be the CEO of their shop. The General Manager oversees kitchen operations, front-of-house service, the continued development and growth of your team, and the overall profitability of your shop. The GM is always guest-, food-, and team-focused while being a quick thinker front-of-house lover, a skilled communicator, and a motivator. As a GM, you’ll be an enthusiastic leader for your team, lead by example, and hold yourself and all team members accountable for their performance and product output through our CYM Values (“VIBES”).

If you’re picking up what we’re laying down, keep reading!

YOU'LL CRUSH THIS ROLE IF YOU...
  • Have 1–2 years of restaurant management experience and understand what it takes to run a smooth, successful shop
  • Have a strong understanding of P&L management, COGS, labor, scheduling, process improvement, training, team development, and food quality standards
  • Hold a current ServSafe Manager Food Safety Certification and know restaurant safety and sanitation standards like the back of your hand
  • Are highly organized and can confidently balance food costs, labor goals, team needs, and daily operations without losing sight of the details
  • Believe memorable hospitality starts with genuinely caring about every guest’s experience
  • Lead by example with a hands‑on, roll‑up‑your‑sleeves mentality and are always ready to jump in alongside your team
  • Take initiative, anticipate challenges, and can move comfortably between solving what’s in front of you and thinking about the bigger picture
  • Bring positive, can‑do energy and thrive in a fast‑paced environment where no two days are exactly the same
  • Have developed strong, diverse teams through clear communication, thoughtful coaching, trust, and accountability
  • Stay calm under pressure and approach challenges with a solutions‑first mindset
  • Treat others with kindness and respect and believe the best teams succeed by supporting one another
  • Sweat the details because you know the little things make a big difference for your team and your guests
  • Can work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
  • Are digging our BIG V.I.B.E.S. (Vibrancy, Integrity, Belonging, Energy, and Seize the Moment)

Shall we proceed? If you blurted out an audible “YES INDEED!” then please keep reading.
