Job summary

Castell Rooftop Lounge is seeking a General Manager to lead the room and the team atop the AC Hotel New York Times Square. We blend classic cocktails with modern twists in a high-end setting with a fireplace lounge and spectacular Midtown views.

You will manage a dedicated team, curate the beverage program, control costs and ensure flawless service while delivering memorable experiences for guests and corporate events.

Qualifications

• Experience managing a craft cocktail bar or high-end venue.
• Ability to manage beverage inventory and control costs.
• Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the on-floor guest experience and set the tone for Castell each night.
• Build and coach a team that lives our core values and standards.
• Run the bar program, manage beverage inventory, track usage and reduce waste.
• Own the business by hitting or beating financial targets and understanding P&L effects of decisions.
• Keep the team prepared for every service and inspections.
• Deliver standout events with the Event Sales Manager, staff events to the same standard.

Castell sits on top of the AC Hotel New York Times Square. It's a classic cocktail lounge rebuilt for now: martinis done right, cocktails that are part throwback and part invention, a fireplace lounge, a granite bar and an open-air terrace that looks out over Midtown. We're polished but never stuffy, and we're looking for a General Manager to lead the room and the team.

This role is for you if:

• You think hospitality starts with your team, and you lead like a coach.
• You're at your best on the floor, and you know how to turn a first-time guest into a regular.
• You love the cocktail world, from the perfect martini to keeping your pour cost tight.
• You sweat the details, take ownership and own your numbers.
• You keep your sense of humor on a full Saturday night.

What you'll do:

• Lead the experience: set the tone on the floor every night and make sure each guest gets Castell at its best.
• Build the culture: hire, coach and develop a team that lives our core values, and model those values yourself.
• Run the bar program: manage beverage inventory, track usage and control costs so stock levels and waste stay where they should be.
• Own the business: hit or beat financial targets, and understand how each operational decision affects the P&L.
• Keep us ready: make sure we're prepared for every service and ready for a DOH inspection on any given day.
• Deliver standout events: work with our dedicated Event Sales Manager, who books large-group, private and corporate events. You make sure every event is staffed, ready and run to the same standard as a night on the floor.

What you bring:

• Management experience at a craft cocktail bar or high‑end venue, with real beverage management experience.
• Comfort with our systems: OpenTable, Toast, Restaurant365 and Dolce, plus Microsoft Office with strong Excel skills.
• Strong organizing and planning skills, and you can set priorities.
• Energy, positivity and a good sense of humor.
• You must be at least 18 years old.
• Required food safety certifications will be obtained and confirmed upon hire.
