Job description

The Islands of Islamorada is seeking a General Manager to lead our team of talented hospitality professionals. This is a full-time year-round salaried exempt position overseeing a team of about 30 employees in a luxury resort environment. Base wage is based on experience and skill set, with potential bonus eligibility annually.

The Islands of Islamorada is an intimate luxury oceanfront resort in the heart of the Florida Keys, offering a highly personalized alternative to the traditional full-service resort experience. The property features 22 expansive four-bedroom villas and eight ocean-view suites, complemented by two oceanfront pools, a private beach and marina, waterfront bar, fitness and wellness offerings, pickleball, watersports, and dedicated wedding and event spaces. The guest experience is centered on privacy, residential-style luxury and curated service, with offerings ranging from private chef experiences and concierge-arranged fishing and boating excursions to in-villa spa services and pre‑arrival provisioning. For a General Manager, it represents an opportunity to lead a distinctive, high‑touch luxury operation where exceptional service, strong local partnerships and the authentic Islamorada lifestyle are central to the property’s positioning. Newly operated by EOS Hospitality in July of 2026, we look forward to ushering a new phase for this luxury service property.

JOB SUMMARY:
  • Leading and supporting all departments within the resort to ensure all policies and procedures and standards are being met.
  • Interacting positively with guests promoting the features and amenities of the resort
  • Monitoring all aspects of the hotel operation and rectifying any deficiencies with respective personnel.
  • Maintaining profitability of each department
  • Prepare annual capital, cash flow and sales and marketing plans to accurately forecast budgets and achieve required operating results.
  • Analyze financials to drive revenues, future profitability and maximum return on investment. Use distribution channels and technology platforms to drive revenue and maximize market share.
  • Lead capital plans and asset management initiatives, including working with ownership to maintain or improve property’s market leadership position.
  • Evaluating cost effectiveness of all aspects of the operation
  • Developing cost savings and profit enhancing measures across the resort
  • Providing support to the executive committee and leadership group
  • Manage the overall seasonal demand strategy in partnership with the hotel’s revenue team.
  • Establish and implement appropriate service recovery guidelines and services and programs to ensure complete guest satisfaction and exceed guest expectations.
  • Respond to guest complaints or concerns in a prompt and professional manner.
  • Ensure the effective operation of the hotel through the direct supervision of the operations leadership team.
  • Manage the appearance, condition, and preventive maintenance of the physical hotel through the direct supervision of the Director of Engineering.
  • Develop, implement and monitor employee succession planning to ensure future bench strength.
  • Establish performance and development goals for employees and provide mentoring, coaching and regular feedback.
  • Enforce hotel standards, policies, and procedures are in place within the hotel departments.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state and local laws.
  • Attend departmental and/or corporate meetings and training sessions as required.
  • Demonstrate a team‑focused attitude and encourage collaboration.
  • Understand and use safe work practices for all safety precautions including Emergency Evacuation Procedures, Violence in the Workplace, Accident Reporting, OSHA Compliance, and Bloodborne Pathogen Procedures.
  • Attend meetings and training sessions as required.
  • Comply with all policies as outlined in the Handbook, Property Supplement, or otherwise issued including time and attendance expectations, uniform and dress code standards, anti‑harassment policy, and substances in the workplace.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:
  • Ability to remain standing for up to 8 hours

  • Ability to move quickly based on guest needs

  • Ability to communicate and exchange information effectively, often in a public/group setting
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
  • Ability to complete a satisfactory background check
  • Ability to work flexible hours based on business needs including midweek and weekend days
KEY SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
  • 8-10 years management experience, luxury hotel environment preferred
  • Four year degree in related field preferred
  • Luxury resort leadership experience, ideally in the Florida Keys, Caribbean, or another destination market.
  • Experience overseeing villas, residences, vacation rentals, or a hotel with a homeowner/rental‑management program.
  • Strong owner‑relations skills, including transparent communication, owner statements, stay requests, maintenance coordination, and management of individual owner expectations.
  • Hands‑on, entrepreneurial leadership style suited to a small operation with a lean team.
  • Proven ability to elevate service standards and create a personalized luxury guest experience.
  • Strong financial and commercial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, labor productivity, revenue strategy, and departmental profitability.
  • Experience building or expanding resort programming and ancillary revenue, particularly F&B, activities, transportation, and local partnerships.
  • Understanding of the luxury travel‑advisor and consortia markets, or experience preparing a property to meet those service expectations.
  • Strong facilities and preventative‑maintenance discipline, especially for high‑value villas, pools, landscaping, and waterfront assets.
  • Ability to recruit, develop, and hold a small leadership team accountable while remaining highly visible with guests and employees.
  • Experience stabilizing a newly transitioned or repositioned property would be strongly preferred.
  • Successful completion of satisfactory background check
  • Demonstrates natural leadership qualities with a positive, team‑focused attitude
  • Available and willing to work flexible hours based on business needs including weekdays and weekends.
  • Must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written and good computer and budget analysis skills.
  • Must know how to prioritize, delegate, and respond in a timely fashion. Able to work under pressure, multi‑task, and stay focused while maintaining hospitality.
