Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in aviation maintenance, aerospace or mechanical engineering preferred or equivalent experience.
• FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) highly desired.
• At least 10 years of progressive leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all operations of FAA Part 145 repair station, including nacelles, thrust reversers, and critical composites and structures.
• Act as the repair station's accountable manager and drive the unit's P&L.
• Ensure operations comply with FARs, OPS, and OEM maintenance/repair data.
• Own end-to-end shop performance for structural repairs and drive improvements.
• Drive reductions in turn-around time and repair costs via scheduling, workflow, and capacity planning.
• Build relationships with customers to generate recurring revenue streams and growth.
• Establish and monitor key operational metrics and take corrective action as needed.
• Provide staffing, training, equipment, and materials to perform repairs.
• Ensure OSHA and safety requirements, PPE usage, and HAZMAT handling.
• Develop and manage the shops operating budget and capital equipment planning.
• Lead, mentor, and develop shop leadership and cross-functional teams.
• Identify and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
• Represent the facility in interactions with FAA, OEMs, customers and corporate leadership.

Job description

The General Manager will be responsible for all operations of FAA Part 145 repair station. Operations include nacelles, thrust reversers, and critical composites and structures. This role is the repair station's accountable manager. The General Manager is responsible for driving the business unit's Profit and Loss (P&L).

• Complete oversight and accountability of ensuring that the repair station operates in accordance with all applicable FARs, Operations Specifications, and OEM maintenance/repair data.
• Ownership of end-to-end shop performance for Structural repairs.
• Drive continuous reduction in turn-around time (TAT) and repair cost through production scheduling optimization, workflow/layout improvements, capacity planning, and elimination of bottlenecks across composite, bonded-metal, and sheet metal work streams.
• Build relationships with customers to generate recurring revenue streams and drive scalable growth
• Establish and monitor key operational metrics (turn time, on-time delivery, cost per repair, quality escapes, capacity utilization) and drive corrective action when performance targets are missed.
• Responsible for providing adequate staffing, training, equipment, and materials to competently perform the full scope of authorized composite, bonded, and sheet-metal repairs.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and safety requirements including emergency responses, incident reporting, usage of PPE, proper handling of HAZMAT.
• Develop and drive the shops operating budget, capital equipment planning and staffing plans in alignment with growth objectives.
• Lead, mentor and develop shop leadership including Production, Operations and Quality management team.
• Identify and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
• Represent the facility in interactions with FAA, OEMs, customers and corporate leadership.

Education Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in aviation maintenance, Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering preferred or equivalent experience.
• FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) highly desired.
• At least 10 years of progressive leadership experience.
